I am not deep in venture system and I am sorry if i duplicate with it. In my opinion there should be 2 gears. Let's say first one is from ancients and another should be better one. The point is connection through 2 gears. First aim should be to collect ancient gear and to be able ONLY with it to do "this hard dungeon" where reward should be 1 or 2 items. Same with roc and ancient badass unique.

Another thing which server is missing is party play at low lvls. (not sure at higher levels).

The system you described is not really possible to do. For the party play, theres epic grind spots, ancients, ancient skills, monster summon scrolls (which give a ton of exp). Everything and much more is already set for party play, its up to people whether they want to party up or not.

We really need more people.. and you guys need to help doing that! Stop working on the god damn server and work on its community for a while!...

My suggestion to get every side happy and to achieve a nice income of players to the server while keeping its purpose and giving space for great shit to happen, i say:

-Start a welcoming event for players who start out. A signature item, a silver reward, whatever. Start events for the players alredy on the field. A day where jobbing doubles up, a weekend where uniques spawn 3x more and they spawn every hour, a certain random hour of the day where a specific mob drops globals, the guild who guild wars more gets a prize in a weekly competition, shit like that.

-Make leveling the way it used to be while keep these quests and increase custom spots everywhere! Yes, shit used to be slower but it used to be so much fun. I remember leveling with people and not just questing on my own. The point of this is so people can either option doing quests or hunt uniques, now everybody just wants to do quests because of the way you set the system up (not pointing fingers, just saying).

-Allow botting. Oh shit! Not botting!.. Well.. here's the key. Make it so people can only achieve shit through jobbing, make it so leveling will only get you to the cap, keep the last levels special quest only. This will motivate botters to come and to play, if you provide them with a system that if they get to the cap, they can start trading right away and start earning themselves a decent spot for being able to pvp with everyone, just a little incentive to catch those light botters so we can appeal to more people.

-Have prizes through facebook, make 1 video about a jobwar/guildwar every week and post it on multiple sro related forums.

-Recruit SCH's. Social Community Helpers. These guys have access to free globals, they have volunteered to have globals so they can spike the server's chatting action. They can also have some decent gear given to them so they can be in charge of always trying to mess things up, create jobwars.


Please, stop working on the god dam server. We don't need more small patches, we need you to listen to your players and just give a SMALL HELP so we can do the rest.

+1 to ya , party play is doeble , oh an yeah doing quests is borring and trust me its slower then a full 8/8 special grinding spot party hunting :D , the only problem is the lack of gold but wtv you dont need gold till you are capped , oh and qynchou keep the good work and ignore this bastards :D , your sv pwns and in time you will get more peps you will c , why you have low pop on the server : because you are the only LEGIT sv Active , the servers with 200+ pop are 100% bot svs .... oh and for this bastards :D Show me another sv bugless, lagless , no-bots ? Start bringing more alternatives and make use of the features already implemented to keep your players interested.
Right now FGW is a waste of time and so is hunting regular uniques.
Hunting golden and ancients are only good for transports and maybe ancient gear if you are planning to buff them.

Maybe increase the amount of gold you can get from those FGW boxes. Also, if botting is impossible/really hard, why is every item worth 1 gold except tier 3 8D gear and (that currently sells for 500k on npc)? Did you actually have detection or you were talking about how the server is built to mess with bots? The lack of options to make gold besides trading is hurting the playerbase.

Also there's a glitch where you can keep raising masteries beyond the 255 limit. I've seen chinese players with 4 maxes masteries thiefing (for example, player named 'Me'). Also Artic Presence is a really underwhelming skill.

edit: or like IceCrash said, allow botting but in an extremely controlled enviroment.

Botting and autoselect is completely impossible. We took over the no gold drop until higher levels from Venture v1, which didn't have the new security system and thus has gold botters. I'm guessing the security itself is enough to mess with any bot programmers' head this time :sohappy:

So this version can't have goldbots due security? Why don't you raise tier 8D drop chances to farm stuff and npc them, or even increase gold drops on jobcave at least? It's really annoying being stuck doing the sp quest over and over because there's no one else to trade with and get that damned SOM weapon to be finally be lv85.

edit: Also you should come to south DW and watch Andor, a som bower from BT pvping with Light, Fire, Force and Bow maxed out. He blatanty used them all, but now he's hiding light skills. You can check his character and pretty much confirm he those 4 masteries maxed out. And he's also a thief, go figure.

Thanks for reporting the mastery bug, found the issue, going to be solved asap, masteries reset for characters that are over the limit.

Artic presence was intended to be a new skill that affects players, since I included it into ancient skills I guess its subpar to other ones so it will be buffed.

Will reenable the prices for the items and add other ways to get gold apart from jobbing very soon.

Latest patch:

In this patch we adress the issue of grinding in parties. Since theres not that many parties going on we realised that the problem lies within the quest system. We increased base experience rates and made party experience rates go above the normal ones to encourage party play. Normal quests still give special item rewards, a lot of SP and gold and still are worth doing. What we're doing is not making questing useless, but balancing it with party experience rate and making grinding in parties worthwile.

-Experience rates set from 4x to 6.5x;
-Party experience rates set from 4x to 10x;
-Quest experience rewards have been lowered;
-Guides page has been updated, more guides coming soon;
-Events page has been updated.

New quests will be added very soon that involve party play and utilize the grind spots. Ancient monsters will be updated soon aswell.

Ice crash, you've got some interesting ideas (except the botting one but I'll get one that in a sec, because there is a real problem that hasn't been addressed by this server)

I played this server for a couple of days, seemed kind of cool except for one thing: I decided to go Chinese. . .

A Chinese BLADER as a mater of fact.

So anyway I was doing some quests, and realizing that really there was no one online, only ONE party (at high level areas) I had a little money to do trades but the reward for doing them (could really only do a 1-2 star alone) was totally not worth the time and effort put into it. I tried the ancient monsters which was cool. . . .UNTILL I had a few instances when pretty much the only people of the community on were assholes. I found the Chakji ancient dude made a pt with the name of the ancient, and by the time I got enough people to help me fight it, some high level wizard STOLE the ancient, and killed it by the time we all got there.

This was EXTREEMELY frustrating, and made me stop playing for a few days.

the next time I logged in, did some quests and another high level in donwang msged me, and wanted to "help" me out by doing ancients with me. . .so I went with the guy, fought an ancient and realized that(after we killed it) the dude pet the party on item free for all, and pretty much made sure he did a LOT more dammage than I did, so that he could take the drops, of which were two of those silk trans, and a sox item. . .

I was beyond pissed! Combined with the issue of there pretty much being 2-4 people on whenever I play, the complete boredom of doing "pick up x item/kill x 50 times etc etc" AND being placed in donwang (seriously, that is the ugliest, most boring map in a video game ever, it seriously just sucks the fun out of the game. . .might as well just delete dw from the game and have the game go from Jangan-Hotan instead, and put the dw cave entrance in Jangan as well...you could have just put the portal in the south east where the floating magic things are)

But yeah, all that combined made me uninstall.

Now about the whole botting suggestion.


I vote no on this, INSTEAD: adjust the exp rates of Chinese characters(for soloing mobs AND doing quests), and do it by build. I mean obviously a blader is going to level much slower than a light ice nuker, and a glaiver, bower, etc etc. . .while Euro party players who got on the server the first day (and in the right timezone) were able to get to 80 within a few days.

For those who don't want to play Euro, it shouldn't be "oh well you should have made a euro character and got on at 2-3am to play with people in a European timezone"

With all the changes you are making to chinese characters in pvp as well, there pretty much is no tradeoff for grinding a slower leveling chn charcter vs grinding a euro in a pt.

I mean there isn't even enough people to make a 4/4 pt as a chn! Hell at LEAST you could have started Chn characters off with the ancient skill on mobs or whatever, to keep people interested in! (instead of waiting until level 60. . .come on, seriously?) I don't play games to have it be a second job, I play for fun. . .and as it currently stands. . for a chn character before level 60, this isn't fun. . .so I left.

Also I forgot to mention one thing: You know that 99.9999% of players DO NOT invite Chn players into 8/8 parties. Period. so you really do need to work on the chn side of the experience issues. I'm pretty sure this server isn't a "Euro only" server.

NOW, about botting. Instead of allowing botting, you need to make the game more fun. This is probably out of your skill level with coding, as implementing systems to prevent the need for people to want to bot i.e. giving them a game they want to play and feel as if they are progressing at a reasonable pace, at least on par with people in a euro pt who play around the same amount of time each day, will take some serious hard coding, AND game design skills(extremely important, you could have this all planned out and just hire hard coders from elance if you wanted to), of which I find the team is seriously lacking in (not your fault, people usually go to schools and intern at game companies for this stuff)

Im sorry you had a bad experience, there are always bad people in the community.

About downhan, its a matter of preference really, some people like it, some dont.

Latest patch:
Fixed mastery limit, all players above 255 had their skills reset;
Arctic presence has been buffed (will most likely add damage/adjust it tomorrow).

i think it's funny that the old system worked just fine (the way we lvled in old venture), there was no need for inventions : )

that's like having a timid team that plays good football, well, they might not achieve great stuff cause their money isn't much, but they play good football.. so they go away for a while, they come back afterwards with more money! wooot!!!! But now they're playing different football.. what made ppl get hooked up on them is now changed....


this is what you're doing, and then you get a little surprised because "it's what the community wants", well, it's what the community you left behind and loved the server all the way till the end had. "had". You see where i'm getting at?

In football there's a saying that's among the lines of "you don't change a winning team". Last Venture's problem wasn't the leveling system.


About bumping the rates to 30x or making it instant cap, a small intro no matter how small it is is always needed. It's a way to blend new players, hardcore players, casual players, old, and new.
You've got to understand that what a hardcore player does in 2 days, playing 10h each day, takes 10 days, to a casual player, you need to understand that.

And also, you need to get a hold of the timing better mate. Why waste a solid plan on a mid-night intervention.. You shoulda saved your bullets for this thursday for example, create some antecipation, advertise somewhere, get it a little wet you know, so you gain momentum. This momentum is what makes the opening of a server so important, this momentum can be gained with specific timing, but you've got to be aware of that...

Also, the way you dealed with the introduction... you keep on wasting opportunities, you shoulda said:

"Hello dear Venture players (or some bs like that). We've been discussing some stuff about our server with our players through skype and through forums and we have come to a conclusion, some things need to be changed.

In order to do that, and to achieve more friends to play with us, we're changing:

Bla Bla Bla, up your arse, thanks".


You'd post this in multiple places, maybe even start your own facebook. This is how you create MOMENTUM, ANTECIPATION. Wich is a face of how you work with the peoples Motivation, Excitment, Fear, Expectations. You DON'T need a server to close and open all the time just to get a chance to grab that majority of people....

Meh. This is like a girl who goes down on you, and then when you're going like "Oh, keep on going babe, it feels so good" she says "please don't come in my mouth, it's gross"...

But never the less, good job on listening to people, to your people, we're just discussing details that differ the good from the very good, you know what i mean? But for that you need to plan out things propperly, that's why i was so up my ass about "Organizing things", and "Plans"...

on a side note, something that's very annoying is we all want some nice jobbing and job wars.. the old leveling system and ancient system and whatever was fine, the cost of the soms, the trades.. you didn't need to change that...

all you needed was to get more players and educate them once they're at cap.. with events, starting job shit, guildwars.. etc.. that really is ALL, not more coding or changes....

Purification pill cost reduction would be really nice. The cooldown is high enough already to avoid spamming.

edit: There are also missing ancient weapons like daggers, bow, etc. Also Steady D11 is missing on the DW npc.

There is going to be a big update tomorrow just before the weekend events start rolling, heres whats it going to contain:

Changes:
-6-7-8th degree items now have their normal selling price;
-8D ancient set items have been buffed are inbetween 8D 3rd tier and 8D SoM (SoM still is still better);
-Monsters in CTF give twice the experience;
-You can sell tickets earned in CTF for 75k each to the NPC if you do not wish to exchange them;
-4 New quests that involve killing strong monsters from summon scrolls with great rewards have been added to Hotan Accessory NPC Mamoje.
-FGW mobs give twice the experience;
-FGW treasure boxes now drop golden boxes that you can sell for a nice amount of gold to the NPC.
Skills:
-Arctic presence animation updated, now deals damage over time like the fire aura skill.
Bugfixes:
-More skill sounds fixed, all of them should have sounds now;
-Some of the mob levels adjusted in FGW and DH;
-Niya Guard missing attack animation fixed;
-Getting disconnected in Treasure Guardians room when opening the map fixed.
