If you're in Canada, the 550 is going for around 105$ I believe.

550 will probably give you something around 30-40 frames with drops for BF3 on almost max depending on resolution. SC2 on the other hand would be no problem.

Not sure if you saw this sale while you were picking your parts, but this seems like a pretty good deal.

http://www.memoryexpress.com/Products/MX32632

Your vid card for $260 ($70 off regular price apparently)

Here's a 570 for 199 after a rebate. I've had good experiences with Zotac. My apologies if you don't live in Canada.

If it's a full sized case, you shouldn't have any problems with your video card, as for your motherboard, you shouldn't have any problems either.

What power supply do you have, or are getting?

Just wanna necro this topic to say I've upgraded my computer :sohappy:

Case: Corsair Vengeance C70 - $84.99
Motherboard: MSI Z77A-GD65 - $124.99
CPU: Intel i5 3570K - $209.99
CPU Cooler: Corsair H100- $74.99
GPU: MSI HD Radeon 7870 Hawk Edition- $219.99 [DISCONTINUED :(]
RAM: Corsair Vengeance 16GB (4x4GB) - $57.98
PSU: Corsair HX650 80+Gold - $99.99

Tota: $872.92 :sohappy:
Pics should be up within a week

Edit:
I'm like 4 months late, but to answer your question, Cyan, that board is fine. ASRock is a reputable brand (even though some call it a cheaper ASUS), the thing with that board are the MOSFET circuits (the things under the CPU heatsinks above and beside the CPU socket) are analog (whereas most boards now-a-days use digital MOSFET circuits) and only 2 (true) SATA3 6GB/S ports, but hath no fear, the board is still good. Here's a very good and informative review if you're still interested:
http://forums.overclockers.com.au/showt ... ?t=1062005
and more about digital/analog MOSFET circuits:

I figured I should shop being a little bitch and pony up an extra $50 for Intel 8)

And yeah, I could post benchmarks for GW2 :)

Just curious, if you're going the i5 route and not even getting the K-series(not planning to OC), why not go with an Xeon E3 and get the performance of an I7 without the IGP?

The only game that I own that really uses PhysX is Borderlands 2, but I can just enable it from a settings file anyways :sohappy:

@Fiction I've never even heard of that CPU before you mentioned it, but I checked out the specs, and I don't know why anybody would chose an i5/i7 over that if they're already buying a separate GPU, but all the reviews say that actually only has 80%~ of the i7's power.

Shouldn't even be looking at an i7 unless you plan on doing heavy 3D rendering and such.

Yeah, the Xeons are for workstations, so they're meant to run 24/7 opposed to casual use. They're not exactly as powerful as the i7s, but I'd say closer to 90% of the power.

I wouldn't substitute for an unlocked i7, but I'd definitely go with a Xeon if I were on a budget and didn't care to overclock. That's why I mentioned it, seeing as you got a locked i5.

Oh sorry, I musta looked at a different set of specs, my bad =P I just dropped in and took a quick glance yesterday, so I didn't go through it too well, since I was already late. Well there's that bit of info for others that aren't OCing anyways. For gaming OCing is better anyways, hyper-threading is only usefully in certain applications.

TL;DR, It's all good brah!

I have that processor, it's great. At stock it runs at 4.1 under load, you can easily bump it up to 4.3 without changing the voltage. I did some light OC to 4.5 and only bumped up the voltage a little bit. This i5's a beast.

Was a joke on the physx part. Though drivers I do believe AMD stepped it up.

Cool pics yo

I have a friend with the same mouse and I never saw the appeal. Does it feel like a regular mouse in your hand? Also seeing your tidy desk has just made me clean my own desk =\
