I will make a new char (bard/cleric) but I don't know what armor i have to take
with robes i have more speed and more mag defence and less mp use
but than with light armor i have more defence and with bard I'll get a lot of speed and mp
so what do I have to choose robe or LA

Nice Question Raven.... I should've asked this question too, and advice given to us would be much appreciated. I'm currently building a support Char - A plain Bard/Cleric. I'm pleasantly surprised that the Bard has a damage rate close to that of an Xbow'er. Same lifespan when the XBow'er raises his crit.

with bard and noise you can focus on one mob at a time
and since all your attacks are magic the bonus robes give make good sense, plus the speed can be good if you need to get away

if your char is male you will have a hard time to get gear anyway
female chars are slightly easier to get gear for in most servers

Light armour all the way.

You're an INT build, you already have high magical defense. You already have a huge mp pool. Sure, the extra speed is nice but you're already one of the fastest builds around.

Light armour gives you extra physical defense, which you can never have enough of. It also gives great passive boosts to your buffs.

I've found the bonuses from Light Armour are better than those from Robes.

I would also take LA, with bard you will have enough MP(because it increases when holding harp)
and if you cleric there will always be a bard mp^-healing you

I think LA is better because of clerics passives but you can have both sets.

Okay. Light Armor for Bard Cleric. I have some questions, If I may so ask?

In terms of Damage that the Character can give, does having a robe give a better percentage, or is it so minimal that it is not of any help, or what? The way it is discussed here, and I thoroughly understand it - Light Armor is needed for better protection against Physical Attacks. I also know that this is needed since almost all of the mobs give more physical attacks rather than magical attacks.

However, if one can kill the mobs before it reaches you.. well, I'd like to balance that too.

Your opinions will be highly appreciated...

i have both
in my opionion both have advantages and disadvantages

for purchase limits the LA seems harder to find for sale
this is for female chars (i much rather look at female char all day)
so for male chars it may be even harder to get
and of course this is on Alexander, other servers may be different
and this is for good equipment with blues and pluses already
but regular plain gear is also scarce too for LA

so you have to decide what aspects you want for your style of play and then go from there
i hope this helps some
