I'm looking into getting a headset for both chat and game sounds for my xbox and ps3. Anyone knows the best deal? =]

I have a Turtle Beach X31, two wireless headsets (dog broke one), and a triton ax720.
Turtle Beach is the cheapest piece of tech I have ever bought. It feels really plastic without strength, the sound quality isn't good, and the wire that goes into the xbox controller keeps falling out of the headset (really bad design). I will never buy anything from Turtle Beach again.
The wireless headsets don't have in game sound, but are by far my favorite mics. They're small, light, and wireless.
The Triton is a beast. It comes with an amp and it sometimes seems a bit overkill. I just wish I could have multiple inputs into the amp so I could switch between PC/PS3/XBOX without needing to rewire each time.
TURTLEBEACH X31 2/5 XBOX WIRELESS 4.5/5 TRITON AX720 4/5

The tritons were like 130 CAD you said in ps3 thread? Any idea on how many euro that is? xD I don't want to be spending too much on it hehe...And yeah I do want game sound and chat in the headset so meh...Lots of youtube guys use Turtle Beach or Astro or something.
/Edit ew 170 CAD...I'm pretty sure that'll be 100+ euro haha ._.

I got a bad habit of wanting the best of the best, and sometimes that's annoying but often it saves money if I just buy a better one right away, instead of having to replace the shitty ones all the time ^^
And well, I'm just wondering what good ones are o.O

I want a good one too Means that I can have ninja instead of sitrep pro on half my classes lol. But yeah, I heard Turtle Beach is the way to go. You should be able to pick a decen one up for what, like 40 euros ? Idk, like $60 Aussie dollars I think.

Turtle beach is utter garbage. You'd be better off hooking up ipod headphones to your tv and using a normal mic.

not understanding the turtle beach hate, always saw turtle beach as the second best headset behind astro's as far as the xbox competitive shooter majority went..
anyway, i haven't noticed too much of a difference between the "top of the line" brands.. after all there are only so many features on the things and at the end of the day hearing something in almost unnoticeable better quality isn't going to make you any better of a player or really change your gaming experience for that extra 50 usd or whatever.
semi cheap and durable, turtle beach x3's. i've had mine for almost 2 years now and they're still in perfect condition, playing at half game volume i can hear footsteps on cod from seemingly miles away. definitely worth the 60-70 i paid for it a while back.

Yeah, i have a turtle beach X1. It was like $45 (american) and it's great. Only broke once, and i fixed it for $8, so it's all good. Sound is nice, it's wired so there is no static. 5/5

The problem I have with turtle beach is not the sound quality, it's the fact that it's made of cling wrap, aluminum foil, and feels like a knock off power ranger plastic.
It's sound is ok, but at the price you can buy any headset and the sound is ok.

Well, my x1s dont seem as cheap as u describe, like not even close. It was only 45$, and the wireless headset, that doesnt even provide sound, is $60 afaik. Much better deal for the x1s.

Saw the Astro A30 and they look so fcking awesome, plus the fact I can use them as my phone headset too but you need a mixamp to be able to use it on your console so you'll have to pay like a total of 220 bucks for it :/

I would just save the cash.

The Tritton AX720 I got, came with everything needed to hook up to PS3/Xbox360 and PC. Though I do recommend getting a better optical cable than the one that comes with it... Great headset.

Some youtuber was talking about that too, getting a optical cable with the Astro's. But what is the optical cable precisely? =x Those Tritton's look nice too and also usable as normal earphones but also 170 euro (first site I checked atleast) >.<
/Edit: Lol at the official selling site (Gameshark or something) it's 130$ and cheapest I can find is 164€ ._.
