Yes, I've talked to Naruto and they will NEVER defend any fort that they take, nor help organize it in the future. This is very weak/selfish leadership imo. The importance of defending a fort is obviously to keep the instances and also making sure that the other faction doesn't get ANY medals whatsoever. Oh yes, they can farm the Fort guards all they want but at the same time THEY can also be farmed on, haha. What's so important about the instance that you have to defend the Fortress for 2 hours? Abyss items, goblets, crowns, medals etc., these are the goodies you want to keep within your own faction to strengthen the faction as a whole. You want to keep the opposite faction from getting these, obviously.

With some top legion mentalities, they rather get rewarded medals through sieging, this is down right SELFISH AND ELITIST, only the top 5% DPS/ENMITY will get rewarded, the others, small kinah reward every cycle. Again, selfish, elitists, legions that don't care for the rest of their faction. That's fine though, no one can force them to do anything, nor tell them to do anything, it's their choice. But recognize that it should be frowned upon by those who are the true team players/legions of mmos.

Seraphim (Siel) on the other hand will start to gather some organizational effort to defend forts in the future. It's much harder to defend yes, but I'd rather expect long fights than sieges that last for 5-10mins. I helped organized defenses in the past, we've held back the asmos for at least an hour with BARELY any help of the top legions, it was a big effort mostly from lvl 30-37's, goes to show you that if there was a more united effort behind this Elyos will have not much problem defending forts in the future.

Yeah I can see that defending to keep a shitty instance is somewhat worth it.(It IS shitty, but still a decent source of AP) Not allowing the other factions to have medals either, but wouldn't that mean the same for your faction as well? Why not just let each other farm on it? Besides only the dedicated will get the medals(Or gold buyers unless gold isn't tradable?) Honestly not worth defending until they make the change on allowing defenders get medals.

I also think to prevent the fort to last a small amount of time is to make instance forts or limited entry near the area. Like how Silkroad has it sorta. At least in SRO's fort there are multiple ways to break in and many ways to run around inside without lag.(For me that is) Aion I'm lagging out the ass and not even knowing who I'm targeting with tab.

As the defending.. not many asmo gives a shit atm. It's true, because it's just pointless(Also the top levels are just so close to 50 and want to make 50 first) to go if you show up later and end up being at the end of the top list and get jack shit. Not saying everyone should get medals, but at least some little prize? I dunno put in a bronze medal and allow that to be used for costume items. Something for everyone.

Just me ranting on how the game is ran. D:

Probably will use ignite again if they fix it as it only does dmg for 1 buff even if you strip 3 which sucks.

Never been a fan of Ignite Aether, though sometimes I wish I did have it.

My character. Nothing special.

I got 75 plat coins so far, so about 1300 more runs until I have the full set...

You went with armor spirit :o how is that? I still can't decide what advanced stigmas i'm getting. Pre-req make the choice so much harder. >_>

It's great because it stacks with the DP buff. I don't know if you noticed or not, but anyone with 30%+ run speed can outrun all your pets except wind. With the DP and the advance stigma buff, my pets have no trouble keeping up with anyone from what I've experience. My wind pet runs extremely fast and has no trouble keeping up with me if I decide to glide down a hill or something. If I combine the 2 buffs in PvP and Spirit Wrath, I can burst down any burst class before they can kill me without using fear and without kiting. The worst part is the the 5min CD so if you screw up and your pet dies or gets unsummmoned, you'll be waiting a while to use that buff again. I didn't like the Pre-reqs at first but Spirit Recovery allows me to be a bit reckless with my pet now. PvE is also very easy now.

Just bought Cyclone of Wrath for 4mil on the broker... About to blow through everything now. lol

In Siel Asmo takes their first fort up on the top layer today in about 60minutes! I got 3 medals which became 4 medals -> 2 rusty medals and 2 gold medals from the wishing fountain. Not bad really. 400k for silver or 1mil for gold? **** yeah seaking.

Elyos came to defend it horribly after they took another one on the top layer.. lol they ran in one by one. Fail idea.

And grats on 50.

I buy tons of crappy manastones and take them to the manastone npc and hope that I get good manastones in return. Then I use alchemy and convert them to higher level manastones to sell. It's my poor attempt at making money.

Glad I'm finally 50. I can mess around with the DP pet now.
Spoiler!

I won't get far. I'm in a casual legion and the closes level to me is 43 so I won't be doing Dark Poeta or anything endgame related anytime soon. I may get an invite to join a few of my high level friends in other legions but I'm not really expecting that to happen. I still haven't completed my second advance stigma slot quest yet in steel rake.

49 went by pretty fast for me. I was fortunate enough to be able to join a group for the Alquimia instance. No one in the group was above 43 so I was getting most of the exp. It was around 173k per kill which is about 5x-6x faster exp than I get solo so my exp bar was moving extremely fast. Too bad I couldn't stay in there forever.

Oh, and I suggest everyone avoid AionSource's Aion Discussion section. It's full of of WoW trolls(of course not all of them are from WoW) who believe Aion is dying because they have the attention span of a hamster and want everything on a silver platter.

Gratz,now you tell us what Aion's EndGame has to offer :D

It has nothing to offer.
I'm bored out of my mind, what I do for fun is kill guards...
Here I am aoe-ing three of them.
Code: Select all
other than that, all you can do is run an instance called dark poeta for better gear.
Rifting, where you take a portal to the opposing factions leveling area and kill them randomly, is no longer profitable because the highest level monster in said area is 45. So all I can do is kill lowbies there, and they give no rewards (abyss points).
I highly doubt they'll add anything since it just launched, bleh I was hoping for more.

Still got that badass TV for playing games on fudge?

I hope they add more than just an instance and straight out PvP because even SRO had more to offer than that =\

I'm sure they will. Just look at the patch notes of the numerous changes and additions they made in the Lineage 2 expansions.
Ex. Chronicle 4
http://www.lineage2.com/news/chronicle4_10.html

That's one area where I have 100% faith that NCSoft will deliver. Content.

Not to go completely off topic but im in the process of installing Aion and its sitting at 22%, i started it like 3 hours ago.

What im aiming for is; is the game really worth it? seeing that im waiting a long time for this to finish i've watched some videos and are get a "meh" feeling out of it. I wanna know some responses from those here who play the game, with pros and cons.

Grind is bad, but nothing compared to Silkroad. Once 40+ you really can join in on fort raids, but to get medals it bases off top ap gained. Nothing really to do other than farm better gear off of instances, dredgion(It's pretty much a small match of a group elyos vs amso), fort raids, and rift whoring. Abyss fighting.. there isn't much, but if you do find it the person runs away when they're about to die.. even though they wanted the fight and come back for more.

I'll be honest until Aion is fully launched up the game isn't worth it unless you get 50 and geared and wait. By 'fully launched' I mean.. they really rushed it's released in Korea and they didn't really do much since the year has passed from our launch. I have high hopes of the next big update to be more revolved around pvp. This game can totally do a much better job in group vs group battles. The game can have CTF, king of the hill, assassination, etc etc all the good game modes. Even though Aion isn't a FPS I believe they'd work out perfectly. Small maps of flying, but can't fly with the flag would be awesome. King of the hill.. would pretty much be guarding an artifact or something and then assassination.. well obvious lol. Hunt the target down.

They really need to get their heads out of their asses and stop thinking the game is perfect as it is.

Aion has great graphics but that's about it. It's not a bad game but it's not great either. The game has a lot of potential though.

A few days ago when Asteria became vulnerable, I flew to the plumas and killed a single elyos. I got 2 AP for the kill. I changed my mind about helping take the fort and just logged out. When I logged back in I had 3 silver medals in my mail. My lvl 45 friend was in Asteria helping reduce the guardian's HP from 100% to 25% before he crashed. When he logged back in he had gained 2 silver medals. Now I understand why they are lowering the contribution points you get from killing a player.

First time in Dark Poeta.

da realest, after running that instance 2 or 3 more times im sure you will get bored and go pvp and find there is rarely any meaningful pvp in the game considering the only rift spot only has monsters going up to lv45.

the fort sieges are a massive zerg fest, if you aoe everything youll get a medal.
aside from that, theres dredgion where basically if you have an SM with fear shriek you basically win and you shouldnt have a problem with that.

either way for me this game has come down to
1.farm guards
2.dredgion.

dregion is once every 8 hrs.....

sooo im ending my sub. its over in 10 days :P

Nice, but what's the difference between Enchanter with Spiritmaster? (i guess a Enchanter enchants some mobs wich mean he needs mobs near and SM summons spirits by himself)
And what's special about in a Templar?

Oh, and i just seen some gameplays and i agree with some of the new people here interesed to play this game. The gameplay and everything else looks boring... looks so wow-ish and slow and that...

There's no class named enchanter in Aion lol.
Gladiator = DD/tank
Templar = Ultimate tank
Assassin = "rouge" in sro-speak
Ranger = Bowman, surprise.
Sorcerer = Wizz. nukes n shit.
Spiritmaster = Pet class with nukes.
Cleric = Take a guess.
Chanter = melee, buff class with minor heals.

whyd you add instances lol?
aion has ONE instance endgame, and the gear drops are 3rd tier anyway.
plus the instance requires you to stay in there for 4 hours, unless you can get an A rank of 3 hrs. Getting a group together, DP has taken me about 5 hours to complete if not 6. Oh and not to mention each run costs items which are equivalent to 800k gold on my server. so fun :roll: .

oh yeah not to mention this image
Spoiler!

remind you of any other failed game?
