Not gonna use screenshots, just going to explain everything with small easy to understand words. >.>

ALWAYS MAKE A COPY (BACKUP) OF THE FILES YOU'RE EDITING.

If you don't understand this (I really did make it simple) then I suggest you don't try to Pk2 edit, or ask someone who's willing to use screenshots. It may seem like a long guide, but some steps are just 'search for blahblah and press enter'. It's quite short.

First step: Extract Media.pk2 (If you don't know/can't do this, you fail.)

Second step: Find CharacterData.txt (media\server_dep\silkroad\textdata.) and right click on it, click PROPERTIES. Find out the FILE SIZE, the exact file size, and write it down. Then open the file in WORDPAD.

Third step:Search for whatever enemy/thing/whatever you want to change your wolf into. Example: MangYang

Fourth Step: Once you've found the entry for MangYang, scroll to the SIDE and find the BSR entry. It should look like "mob\china\mangyang.bsr" or something close, I don't remember exactly.

Fifth Step: Highlight the .bsr entry (ALL OF IT -.-) and right click, then press COPY.

Sixth Step: Search for "Wolf_0XX" The XX represents your wolf's level. So if you have a level 5 wolf, you'd search for 'wolf_005' or level 70 -> 'wolf_070'.

Seventh step: Now that you've found your wolfs entry, you scroll to the SIDE. You'll eventually come across "cos\p_wolf_02.bsr". A .bsr file is the image you see in Sro (your wolf), the .ddj file is the ICON for the ITEM, typically we don't touch the ddj.

Eighth step: Now highlight the wolfs BSR entry, right click, and press PASTE. You should of pasted your other BSR entry over it. =)

Nineth Step: Now you've done the easy part. Do a search for "cos\guild_eu_soldier9_scroll.ddj", there are many entries. This is the ICON for a europe merc, something we don't use. Once you've found it, paste over 'cos\cos_c_horse1.ddj'. We are pasting over a Horses ICON to make extra space inside the file, because the file has to be EXACTLY the same size as it was before. You should paste over 2-3 of them, or more if you've changed multiple things in this file.

Tenth Step: After you've made some space, save the .txt (somewhere else, don't save over the one you're using).

Eleventh Step: Use Windows Explorer, or My Computer, or anything you really want, and go to where you've saved your .txt. Right click on it and click PROPERTIES. Find out the file size and write it beside your original file size (you should of written this down before, in step 2)

Now open up the .txt in HexEdit, a program you should of downloaded from the original guide (there is a sticky). Scroll down to the BOTTEM. At the right hand corner of HexEdit you'll see a file size, it should be less than the original.

What we want to do is add null bytes '00' at the end of the file to match the file size. Every '00' we add, adds one byte to the file. So click on the hexadecimal side of HexEdit (the side with all the numbers) and at the end, add '00' until you have the file size matched to the original.

SO! If your file size was originally 123456, and after editing it became 123450, you'd need to add 6 null bytes, or "00 00 00 00 00 00". Simple, no?

Now after you've matched the file size, SAVE the file. At the top RIGHT hand corner of hex edit you'll see a button called SPAWN. Click on it, it opens another HexEdit.

In the newly spawned hexedit, open your media.pk2 (MAKE SURE YOU'VE MADE A BACKUP).

Do a search in HEXADECIMAL mode for

"FF FE 31 00 09 00 31 00 39 00 30 00 37 00 09 00 43 00 48 00 41 52"

This is the start of characterdata.txt!
Now go back to your other HexEdit window that has CharacterData.txt in it, at the top click edit, and SELECT ALL. Then right click and press COPY.

You've just copied all your characterdata.txt, so go over to your other hexedit window (with media.pk2 in it). You should of searched for

"FF FE 31 00 09 00 31 00 39 00 30 00 37 00 09 00 43 00 48 00 41 52"

Once you've found it, put your cursor right infront of the FF part. right click, and press PASTE OVER. You should of pasted the characterdata.txt over.
Now save, and test, and voila, if you followed each step it should of worked!
