Hi,

I came accross the Healer Guide in this forum (http://www.silkroadforums.com/viewtopic.php?t=1672) but everywhere I have asked about it people tend to say it is useless for PvP...

So my question is this, has anyone got a high level Healer built according to the mentionned guide :
Full Int
Force and Ice
Bow

I really need someone who has played this build at a 52+ level and who could post their opinion. Thanks

yeah i read that guide too.. i think it s.ucks.. but that's just me...

i'm building a pure str fire/force sword/shield healer, but that's just my idea.
with as main idea a death healer is no good..;) so went for the tanker build
but i'm worried about the amount of mp.. but i'm hoping potz will cover it.

anyway there are very few guids out there about healers. Would be nice to have some pro comment on this.

im a lvl 37 int-hybrid nuker but i can res up to lvl 42 and heal pretty good too. don't see any point in making a "Healer" when you can just push them in your normal char. If you keep a decent gap its all ok.

Healer is typically full str, or str based just for the shear fact that if your dead because of your low HP (by being a full int, or int based) then whats the point in being able to res people?

Once im done my farming in a week or 2, i will be a lvl 65 able to res a 73 player which will be very useful to my guild.

Thats another thing about being a healer char. You have to sacrifice a tree that makes you more powerful in order to help others.

Light is essential for speed, buffs, Fire is essential for highest damage, and your Weapon mastery is essential for every build to a certain extent (s\s nukers still need kd+stab but the rest are give/take for the most part). This is where being an Int healer kicks you, cause cold is essential because of your low Hp, you need the physical defence buff. Being a str char, your HP is high as well as your Physical defence so Ice isnt deemed essential, so you have room with a little extra farming to take on the Force tree.

In sro it's more of a resser than a healer. And don't go INT as you need all the health you can get to stay alive while ressing people.

if you take on the force tree it means you can't take some other skills and
that will make you weaker. So i'm making a seperate char for it.

normally, all healers are fire glaive

which needs the least sp, and you wouldn't die so fast

some did pure STR, but not recommended, my point is 1:1, i've got one lvl 51 in cSRO last May, (not so high lvl), but got hacked...

BTW, HEALERs are NOT useless,
1:1 str + fire build healers can solo, but not so ideal, mostly to leech from guildmates, doing EXP share :P
in mass pvp or guild wars, they are the most respected people in the guild...

glavie?? why?/ because of the passive??

and why not go pure str, that way you have the most hp and will be a good tanker. Which i believe is a big need for a healer.

correct me if i'm wrong

Str is the way to go as a healer, healing doesn't cost a lot of mana, so you are better off with more Hp so you can take a hit rather than dying.

However, the use of a Healer is a bit arguable. In general, you use it to heal up yourself or a teammate.
When you heal yourself, it´s only vs mobs, since if you go healing yourself in PvP you are wasting precious time dealing damage. The only time i heal myself vs mobs is when i run low on hp pots, so it´s only usefull to save on pots.

When you heal a teammate, it´s when he´s PvPing, on job or fighting uniques.
In PvP i don´t have a lot of xp with it, so i won´t discuss that now :P Healing when teammates are fighting uniques is a nice addition, but i don't have much xp in fighting uniques, so can't really say anything about it.
On job, you only heal a teammate when he is fighting someone who is equal or stronger than him. Most likely the enemy is stronger as you as well, else you wouldn't need to heal your teammate, but just kill the enemy yourself. If the enemy has any braincells, he will go after you first, since you are weaker, and can't heal your teammate anymore. So the only thing you are good for is being cannon-fodder (which can be good, since your teammate can get some time buffing up or casting nukes), or be a real help if the enemy is a bit stupid.
This might be a big reason why a healer would go lightning (grasswalk), to be able to run from higher lvl enemies and running around trying to heal your teammates, while running away in time yourself when they come after you. I also wear garments, more move-speed and less mp costs, which both help. And if your grasswalk isn't above 50%, try to get some Move Speed scrolls.

Oh and with the monster summon scrolls/pandora boxes, it helped a lot too, healing up the int-people from a distance :P.
