Post subject: Questions about Enchanting a Weapon. Posted: Fri Mar 17, 2006 6:30 am |

Ok, wanna enchant a weapon so I can do some serious SP grinding but have some questions. Got all the basics about elixirs and lucky powders and that, but what I want to know is if you use an Intensifying elixir on a weapon, can you use a SoS/SoM/SoS on it later or vice versa? Also if anyone has some %'s on success rates for intensifying elixirs, got a couple from drops already, and am itching to use them.

no, you can't get SOx from elixirs.
i don't have any hard %'s, but +1 is pretty much gonna work. it gets tricky at +3 though, and you can wste alot of elixirs trying sometimes.

Umm, not what I meant, I meant can you add a SoX to an item that is already +'d or add +'s to an SoX item. Was reading in the stickied thread about it, and someone said you can, but it wasn't clear if failing on a trying to enhance an SoX item would remove the Seal or not.
As a sidenote, on some of the older servers what's the average price for SoS?

SoX items are SoX items and normal items are normal items.
no transfer between them, normal equipment stays normal no matter what you do. SoX dont means anything else, just that the item is more powerful like the normal ones. no mystery behind it

Source for + items: Drops and elixirs.
Source for Sealed items: Drops only.
Source for Sealed + items: Drops for Seal and possibly +'s, elixirs for more +'s.
You can apply an elixir to a Sealed item with or without +'s, blue mods, etc.
Failing a + does not remove a Seal or any blue stats (unless those blue stats were added by an elixir).

Ahhh ok. Thanks Bake and Monkey, I was confused as I was under the impression SoX was like an elixir that was added to an item and dropped seperately, not a quality items could drop with. That clears up a lot of confusion I had on this matter.
