Hi, this is actually my first ever post in this forum and also my first ever guide.

Just to explain, I recently started playing the game (2 weeks or so ago maybe a little less) and have been getting asked repeatedly by the 7 or 8 people that started playing at the same time various different questions, the most repeated seemed to be about alchemy so I got bored at work at wrote this guide in a couple of hours, Id like feedback so that I can improve it for my friends. I hope that that is alright.

Alchemy

Okay I have been receiving quite a number of requests to explain how Alchemy works so here goes.

Firstly you need to get to know your two best friends the Void Rondo and the Destroyer Rondo these can be stacked in piles of up to 5000. Void Rondo is 20g and Destroyer Rondo is 400g. Rondos are used to break items down into elements and each Rondo is used on a different type of item to get the elements from them.

The Void Rondo breaks down alchemy items such as Straw, Tiger’s Mane or Broken Arrow. These alchemy items have a blue border around them and if you hold your mouse over them they will tell you the types of elements they will break down into.

The Destroyer Rondo breaks down weapons, armour and accessories. There is no way of knowing what the item will break down into and indeed appears to vary.

Okay so you have Void Rondos and Alchemy items or Destroyer Rondos and some sacrificial weapon or armour, what now? I will list the steps for using a Void Rondo because this is the one you will probably be doing most often.

1. Press ‘Y’
2. Put your stack of Void Rondos in the left hand separate square surrounded by green gems, you should notice as you do this that the right hand squares open up
3. Put your alchemy items into the far right squares, you can have up to eight stacks of alchemy items in these squares.
4. Press Fuse All
5. Wait

Your inventory should now be full of elements, these are split into 4 main types (Fire, Earth, Wind and Water) and the main types are further split into levels.

Quick Tip: When putting Elements into storage break them down into stacks of 200 or so when placing them into storage (You can break down stacks larger than that by holding down shift when clicking on a stack) The reason for this is that you cant break stacks in storage so if you have 3000 Fire 1s (Fire element level 1) and you need 80 for making a tablet (the next step), when you come to put them back into storage it will cost you 2920.

So, anyway, you have been breaking down these elements for a while and have a good stockpile and you want to do with them now, well read on.

You should have picked up a few Tablets by now these are green or pink items with a funny symbol on them, Tablets act as a sort of recipe that uses itself and will make an infused stone.

There are a few important pieces of information on all of the tablets, these show up when you hold your mouse over them.

- Whether the item can be used on Weapon, Protector (Garments, Protector, Armor), Shields or Accessories.
- The Tablet level (This will determine what degree item the final Stone can be used on).
- Which elements are needed to turn the Tablet into a Stone.

So a level 2 Ruby Tablet of Fire can be used only on a degree 2 (or 2d) piece of clothing.

To infuse the Tablet you should follow the instructions below:

1. Make sure you have the Tablet and the elements you will need to infuse it in your inventory
2. Press ‘Y’
3. Put your tablet into the slot on the left surrounded by green gems (4 slots should open up on the right)
4. Put the 4 elements that you need into the slots on the right
5. Press the arrow pointing to the left at the bottom so that the black box reads 1/1
6. Press ‘Fuse’

Voila! You now have a bright shiny Infused Stone. Okay so now that you have an Infused Stone, what do you do with it now?

First let me jump slightly off onto another topic, by now you may well have picked up an elixir (These come in the types of Weapon, Protector, Shield and Accessory like Tablets, it is however slightly easier to see which type they are). Elixirs when used will add +1 to your weapon, effectively increasing the level of the weapon by 1. When you use Elixirs it will also allow you to use lucky powders, I recommend using these as they will make it more likely to work but make sure that the lucky powder level is of the same degree as the weapon (You can buy lucky powders from the Grocer in town)

So you have a nice shiny sword that you want to make better do you? Or maybe a bow or a piece of armor or a nice gold necklace, whatever it is you want to follow one of the guides below.

Tablets –

1. Press ‘Y’
2. Press the second purple tab in the top row
3. Place your Weapon, Armour, Shield or Accessory into the left slot surrounded by purple gems
4. Place the Tablet into the slot that opens up on the right
5. Press the arrow pointing to the left at the bottom so that the black box reads 1/1
6. Press ‘Fuse’
7. Hope that it works

There is a chance with tablets that it will assimilate another attribute when you fuse which will cause another random attribute to change (The chance of assimilation is on the mouse-over)

Elixirs –

1. Press ‘Y’
2. Press the second purple tab in the top row
3. Place your Weapon, Armour, Shield or Accessory into the left slot surrounded by purple gems
4. Place the Elixir into the slot that opens up on the right
5. Place your lucky powder into the second free slot that opens(of the same level as the degree of the item)
6. Press the arrow pointing to the left at the bottom so that the black box reads 1/1
7. Press ‘Fuse’
8. Hope that it works

A few other stats that you may find on items that are useful in the Alchemy process:

Steady: This will prevent the item from losing permanent durability when trying to enchant (+) an item to, or above use an Elixir to put it above +4. (These can also be gained from a Steady Tablet)

Lucky: This adds a Lucky stat. This acts just as a Lucky Powder does. Increases chances for successful enchantment. (By breaking items with a Destroyer Rondo you can sometimes gain a Lucky Stone)

Immortal: This adds an Immortal Stat. Immortal will prevent an item from being destroyed when trying to enchant an item from +5 to +6, or higher. Going from +4 to +5 will not use an Immortal but going from +5 to +6 will. (This can also be added to an item with an Immortal Stone. These stones are supplied through the Item Mall in-game. You have to pay real money for these.)

Astral: This adds an Astral stat. Astral keeps an item that is ALREADY +4, at +4 if enchantment fails. For example if gGoing from +4 to +5 fails. With Astral, your item will stay +4. Without Astral, your item will become +0 on a fail. The number of Immortals must be equal to or greater than the number of Astrals on an item. You cannot have 1 Astral and 0 Immortals. You CAN have 1 Astral and 1 Immortal. (This can also be added by an Astral Stone. These stones are supplied through the Item Mall in-game. You have to pay real money for these.)

With Astral, Immortal, Lucky, and Steady the stat will be decreased by 1 when needed. With Astral 1, you fail to put the weapon from +4 to +5, the item will stay a +4, and the Astral will disappear.

Alchemy usually seems to be used on items that have a Seal on them as they are already the equivalent of a higher level weapon as broken down below;

Seal of Star: +5
Seal of Moon: +9
Seal of Sun: +17

Sorry to bump my own post. I would appreciate just a "Yeah all the info in this is right even though it is a bit long" though if that would be alright...maybe an idea of any extra info that might be useful, like the 5% bonus from a premium ticket I forgot. :D

Thanks in advance.

Not all info is right, seal of moon = +10 and seal of sun = +15.

Other than that, good guide.

You need to take out the spaces in between the [img]brackets.%20You%20have%20two%20spaces%20-%20one%20after%20the%20first%20[img],%20and%20one%20before%20the%20last[/img] tag.

OT: Nice guide. Good for beginners, as well as people that may be a little more experienced with the game. I like how it covers the aspects of Immortals / Astrals, and such. I would recommend, however, making some things bold, some font larger, somethings in different colors - will just make it more attractive, and easier to read.

Other than that, PM Cin about it, and he'll either choose to Sticky it, or give you a reason why it might not be sticky-worthy as of yet. With a little bit of work, I could definitely see it being stickied. :) Good luck, and once again, great guide.

no need for pm. cin is here 8)

as for the guide, its clear and helpful. if you could add screenshots (and crop
them so they dont take the whole page), it is surely worth adding to the big
sticky. if i have large images, i upload em at http://www.xs.to, where you get a
code to show thumbnails that link to your big image. so if you make an account
and upload em there, it should be fine :)

edit: and indeed like fena said, maybe edit the layout a bit to make it easier
to read and less like one big txt ;)

Of course we're friendly. This is SRF we're talking about, not SRT. :P

Like Cin said, screenshots would be very helpful, to some people who might still have no idea what's going on. And besides, it'll make the entire Guide look nicer too - not just a bunch of ongoing words and paragraphs. And once again, change the layout a little more, and I'm sure you'll see it stickied. :)

[Edit:]

You might want to throw a few links into your Guide:
http://sro.mmosite.com/alchemy/tablets.shtml
This one tells you what each tablet / stone does, and what elements you need to make each stone.

http://sro.mmosite.com/alchemy/material.shtml
What monsters drop what alchemy materials, and what elements you can get from those alchemy materials, by using Void Rondo.

http://www.silkroadforums.com/viewtopic.php?t=32453
EllisD's Guide, that explains what those Stats that you're trying to make better, actually do. You might want to read that as well.
