I've been tagging along with the psro scene for quite some time, last server i played on was Venture.. Kickass server but it died, yeah, same ol' story.
SO. Where's everyone at? I'm dling this Theta server wich reminds me of the word Teta all the time, it actually means tit in Portuguese.. so, i'd say that's quite a good start :p

It's about time you facker. I never did play the first Venture due to my job. I'll give it a try this time. I think the biggest turn off for me on Venture was Heuksal skill cooldowns were tied to each other.

salvation worked great, we need to find people who can work alongside the usual coders who change the games mechanics but make shit look better! wierddly sro still looks pretty good even after all these years!

Changing the graphics in the game is not -that- hard but it requires a lot of time and there is only so much you can improve it. (take a look at the venture 2.0 trailer)

well, character textures, ground/grass textures, buildings, general static objects etc. it'd have to be done so it'd look relatively normal mixed with any unchanged objects.
can you duplicate and then edit character models too? i'd love to see more variety in characters.
obviously these are not game mechanics we usually talk about when changing stuff like pvp, rates or whatever.
i guess the same could be applied to mounts and pets, add more variety etc. i know you guys probably dont care, but many people will be drawn to a pserver with not only unique content to play and a good alchemy/job/pvp system, but having more unique stuff like i mentioned.
i guess i will likely learn how to do this myself, i have like 8 years experience creating graphics including working on past kingdom hearts hd textures for pc, would love to customise sro!

That's exactly what we've done on the new venture
Editing the models and animations is not -that- hard (if you figured out how they are saved), but I don't think there is anybody except from perry who has figured out how to do it (and even he released half of his tools to do this)

then perry needs to team up with fly and create a new pserver. venture sounds great too btw! shame i missed that pserver, had no pc lol!
i'm assuming direct work on the games 'engine' is pretty much impossible. but surely model edits are no different to tree's, grass, ground textures and buildings, structures etc. sro i'm fairly certain will use some kind of tileset which if you can view or extract from the server db will then require edits plus reupload etc.
that'd still be a huge task though, maybe just new uniques, mobs and characters would be cool.
anyways, either get perry/fly together, or bring venture back. seems counter productive to have two guys creating a server that ALL of us would want to play on though. based on what i've experienced from fly and heard about perry, you have fly's ability to create a great pvp and stuff and perry who can really get into some unique content! a little likenthat myth online dude, forgot his name!
