1. Saying what got me to play esro was euro and stackable elixers
2. saying Lets all ask chin questions
or

I think a well run Private SRO could be a very fun game. But curious, is this real or just bs?

I'd like to see some proof if the Esro dudes don't mind posting?

From their forum

Move (80%) theres still bugs in the move functions and wont work in the cave.
Teleports (90%) - Caves are disable
Talk to npc (85%) you can talk to most of the npc in game and shows the correct dialog.
Pickup and drop gold and items (80%) theres still some bugs in it
Skills (60%) Most skills work now even the combo ones, but still the damage displayed is not in sync with the animation and some skills the attack is too fast, can cancel active skills, persistent skills, that mantain when you teleport or when you logout. (some items and premium) Skill that change stats and speed are updated correctly, knockback, knockdown and status from skills are disable.
Move items storage,inventory (85%)
Equip and unequip avatars and items (85%)
Mobs spawning (90%) still need to add random giants and champions
Sell items (90%)
Normal attack (70%) still need to add real damage and other checks
Hotkeys (70%) you can insert them, remove them and its saved in the db and when you login your skillbar is updated to the one u saved.
Stall (90%) You can all stuff with stall but buy its still buggy.
Guild (50%) You can create a guild, disband,change notice, join and kick (partially), new member login notification, donate gp, chat.
Exchange (90%) theres still some bugs in it.
Alchemy (50%) item enchanting work properly success and fail, need to add blues.
Party (5%) For now you can send party invitation and accept it or reject it.
Buy (90%) still some bugs that you cant buy from some shops.
Item Mall (50%) partially working for now you can only buy globals.

They even have pictures of them in-game.

@eckoro and Hideoki,

I'm really interested in this project it seems pretty cool, I got a couple questions and suggestions though. I read through this entire thread and noticed that jMerlin left the team. Does this mean that you wont be using the emulators anymore? or has he allowed you to continue with that part of the esro server foundation? The emulator advantages sound really really sweet, especially the part of putting inactive people on "idle mode" in game.

I have a few suggestions that I'd like to add.

1) I recently have been playing Vsro and something they did really caught my attention: limiting play time. ON their server they have this book where you can play for 3 hours at %100 exp and drops and 2 hours at %50 pct exp and drops after that you get no exp and drops for the day. I believe you should implement that here as well with a few changes:

a)The playtime for %100 exp and drops could be four hours a day on weekdays, and 6 hours a day on weekends there would be no %50 hours. just fully %100 percent

b)the timer only counts down during battle similar to how the premium tickets work

c)if someone donates and activates premium, the playtime can increase to 5hours on weekdays and 7 hours on weekends.

Some advantages to this:

-No one REALLY plays more than 3-4 hours on weekdays, or 8+ hours a day on weekdays, those people that say they do either are botting or are unhealthily addicted to the game. neglecting other aspects that would actually benefit them more than playing a game like hygiene, food, real world human interaction with members of the female species etc. . .

-as most people like euro for the party leveling aspect, the somewhat forced time constraint can have the effect of the community getting their act together quickly when forming and making parties (which as many of you all know they can take hours to set up sometimes) this will result in less retardation and encourage the community to help people, as it will help themselves. The community can be come more tightly knit and become a great asset to the success of the server(s)

-if people are REALLY hard core about playing a massive amount of time each day, then they should have no problem paying for it (and rewarding you for your hard work in making this game easy accessible and fun) I believe while unnecessary, would be useful in satisfying players who want to wave their epeens in front of everyone by being the first whatever to lvl 100 in two weeks or something.

-it would put less pressure on other players to try and "catch up" with everyone else and people can actually enjoy the game more without having to "fall behind" other players. most players only play maybe 2-3 hours a day if even that. the rates are 12-15x so there's really no reason to rush to anything,

-it would somewhat prevent a situation where the fastest most longest playing guild/union to get to cap and get the castle first stays there for the first year of the games first opening, creating all sorts of problems for new players who may feel it would be "too much" to try and compete at that high level.

-THE MOST IMPORTANT aspect of this would be: bot control.

as there is a limit of 5-7 hours a way, there would be less of an incentive to actually bot, you've already got the high rates, and have limited playtime so that no one feels that have to "catch up during the first 6 or 7 months of the game, so banning and catching bots can be a lot easier or not even neccessary, freeing up time for other updates and events. the time limit takes away the ability for botters to really bot thus making everyone's life easier.

I have a few other ideas but Ill wait until later to post them (its getting late now)

Also, I am interested in joining the closed beta test if there are spots and people needed to test out bugs, I have the time and a bit of experience doing beta testing for Cabal (before they kicked all the non euros out) so if you need any more people as testers, I'd be glad to help.

In the meantime I'd like you to seriously consider this idea, and I am open to any comments/and ideas about that suggestion that would make it better or provide and solutions to any problems that my suggestions may bring forth. so if anyone else wants to discuss these ideas that would be great. . .If there are people that don't like the idea, that is fine, state your disagreements and provide a well thought out solution.

Anyway thanks for reading this TL;Dr post, and look forward to some interesting discussion and suggestions that can make esro a great server to play on!
