I started one on Eos just for fun.
Got it to level 23 and then gave up. Not because it was boring, because the bots kept ks'ing me.

Warlocks are a fun build to play, but the highest i had was level 23, so i cant really comment much.

Warlock / Cleric is possibly one of the strongest builds in the game though. On alps, a warlock cleric debuffed a lvl 90 glaiver, then did Pure offering, and hit him at around 150k - Pure int of course.

I have a 80 warlock/cleric and it's pretty darn fun, I joined a 78-80 party and of course was begged to be a cleric and buff everyone. After a couple hours I told everyone I was gonna leave in 10 mins and switch to warlock, I did and sure enough pt mobs were going down in seconds instead of minutes. I love being able to go into pvp and if someone tries to attack me just stun them or put them to sleep then if I felt like it killing them lol. Also love that you can get zerk bubbles filled for your pt up in no time with a few debuffs.

I would recommend that you make it hybrid though for the extra hp, as you die pretty fast.

The SP for Warlock's is outrageous. I tried but unless someone was going to give me one that starts at 79 or was fully farmed it would be too hard to get to cap and farm the SP needed...

How much would you need for a warlock as sub? SP wise.

297K for Lvl 90 without DoT's for Bleed and Dull. That's skipping over Magic or Physical Debuff, depending on build, and taking all single and AoE skills of the useful ones for a secondary, excluding Flower skills.

To be frank, yeah they are great grinders. With multiple dots going at once,AOE dots and AOE baby nukes you can kill a lot of mobs quite quickly. Also de buffs for giants take them down in seconds. Constant zerks are a god sent. With vampire touch and RD hp is barley ever a problem. Great class all around.

Been playing a warlock for 41 (42 tomorrow) levels now, and I am greatly enjoying it. I have leveled it solo all the time, with a wolf. Great grind. All the way through the levels I could take on Giants and Party Mobs my level without dying, except due to lag or 2, 3 lucky criticals from the Mobs. SP is *THE* sucks, I have to 2 gap most of the time, sometimes 3 gap. NO real subclass to speak of, I only have 10 Bard for the first Moving March, and 10 Warrior for Shield Trash. Not that I could afford anything else, since I have barely the SP for the skills I need to level up. Unfortunately, I haven't been in a single party yet, between botting and powerleveling I believe there are only lvl 85+ parties in Aege. I am dying to see how the build works in a 8-man party. WTB Party in Aege or Guild with players, not machines.

In my opinion, if you grind the highest level mob you can kill in 2 DoT + one nuke, Warlock is the fastest leveling build in the game. You have a shield and hp leech skills allowing you grind much higher level mobs than a Wizard increasing your survivability. If you're good, you'll probably get zerk literally every 30 seconds making grinding extremely fast and killing orange or red mobs easier. Not to mention, you can handle party mobs as well as Chinese characters. If you go Warlock, its useful to level Warrior to level 10 for shield trash.

In a party, Warlock skills cause tons of aggro. Its best to avoid party grinding unless you have a good Warrior in the party. Plus, unless the party you're in is grinding high level orange mobs or red mobs at an efficient rate, you could most likely out level them soloing if you killed the highest level mob that dies in 2 DoT + one nuke.

I had no problems with sp for my warlock. I just kept a 2 gap with premium. Leveled pretty much every skill and still had sp to spare.

*envying the mere thought of SP to spare* Hopefully I will get there hehehe. I have my skills at lvl 38 now, being lvl 41. With the gap I managed to save 3100 SPs. If I am not making any mistakes (which is likely) with the SP calculator, I will need over 4000 to update my skills to lvl 40 (which I plan to do when I hit lvl 42 tomorrow, keeping the 2 gap).

I agree on the "fast" (for a Korean grindfest, that is) leveling of 2dot+nuke. I am using a lvl 38+3 rod, and I can do that very effectively with Stone Golems, a little less effectively with Rock Golems. Those Rockies always end up with a bit of HP left, enough to hit me, and when it is a KD hit, ouchie, my delicate Witch no likes it!!!

WTB Fully-magical attack mobs!!! Love it when the Stoned Golems hit me for 20 dmg hehehe. If I see two Stone Golem giants I go "Alright, Zerk, Rawrr!!!" but when I see a single Rockie Giant, I actually think of changing the grinding grounds a bit.

Apparently someone never seen a warlock grind nor pvp.

They drop anyone easily even if holy word is present, but since he does so much damage the warlock would usually be the first target out of anyone. As a warlock it becomes annoying because of that and no one likes playing.

Warlocks are evil in pvp.

Can be 10 vs 2 with the '2' beign a warlock and whichever other build and they will win. I'm so happy 90% of the game thinks warlocks are shite. If everyone starting making them at the same rate Wizards get made ... the game would be so hard for us non immune.

I get zerk from just 5 Chasers. I tested that.
Just keep cursing the mobs and don't nuke them, you gonna see your zerk going nuts.

killing bots in action:
debuff them > trap + sleep > teleport to fortress / use instant return scroll = dead bot (especially ints)

We have a level 90 warlock in this forum, she should be able to give an opinion or two for you :)

but to me Warlocks are fun lol, leveling speed cuts it pretty much. be dedicated to it and you'll do well grinding, pvp wise.. i haven't seen anyone actually JUST being warlocks and not using pure offerings ( given that it's one spanktastic damage once casted lol ).
