Hi, I have a int s/s and I'm wandering if it need
the skill that gives extra phys deff or only use
the one that give blocking ratio? You can't use both
at same time can you? Also I will be making a blader,
Does a blader need both or just the blocking ratio one?

Giant and Mountain shield is shit imo, the increase isnt a lot, and its still based on chance, id rather have a set phy def increase any day, they may be usfull against other ints, but otherwise they suck.

I disagree. The block rate increase (38% at the 90 cap) will pull your BR up from about 28 (BR 18 shield) to 66. This reduces the damage per second by about 53% ((100-28):(100-66) = 1:0.47). Against any build, but especially against INTs, that's a huge reduction.

I think you could just use iron wall vs. str chars, and use Giant vs ints, and euro wiz's?
prety useful, its like 12k more sp for the mountain series though..

i'd rather have the huge br increae myself, i mean the other only protects against melee, if nukes are flying around i'd rather be able to block more

Yeah I knew I was gonna have to get the block one for ints
I was just unsure if I should use br one or phys deff one
against str's :) Thank you.

why would it not block nukes, my sheild has blocked dozens of nukes before, and it says increased block rate on the skill, not an increased physical block rate plus with chinese dmg bing mixed half the times that doesn't make alot of sense for a skill to even be able to do so what i block the hit but the imbue goes thru? Maybe the skill isn't as it describes but you sure that incrased br ignores nukes cause that's just illogical sounding

Block occurs at nukes too.

@ Topic, u definitly need both of them. If you got a mixed party of 4 or 5 ppl gang-banging you, phy def surely wont save u. As a blader, it takes a party to kill me, since I can usually tank up to three oponents. My br is 22 (sun shield), and when I do the giant shield, I get block spam. Fck it's hilarious when the sound is on. BLING BLING BLING BLING BLING BLING xD

what kinda sro are you playing? bicheon ONLY BLOCKS PHYSICAL attacks whereas heuskal ONLY BLOCKS MAGICAL

nukes dont use physical attack so giant shield is void if you use it dont give me that bullshit that it blocks a lot

Heuksal has a block skill? Since when?

Since I don't see a high level blader or sword nuker in your sig, I'm tempted to take the word of the experienced blader and my own over yours if you don't mind. :)

sheilds block all attacks aside from buffs and debuffs, bicheon has a physical defense 15 second buff and it has a block rate increase buff, if the buff can increase block rate why would it only be able to block physical if the block rate is increased

i think you need to reread the thread the increase in block rate only works on physical attacks

Well, I don't have a heuksal character, so I'm not familiar with the latest in heuksal skills. :) Bloody demon storm does seem to have a block ratio increase skill, although I cannot find information indicating that the bicheon only blocks physical and the heuksal only blocks magical attacks, and my personal experience is an increased block ratio on both types of attacks when I use my bicheon skills. I'll do some more tests to make sure though.

Thanks man, let me know when you can say for sure how it works.
I always thought it worled with both types, better safe than sorry.

+1
you are right. Shield Castle Series increases only phy def and increase only phy block rate.

and fanning spear series only increases magical def and mag block rate.

ppl please know the skill before you argue of something that you dont know.
if you are still not convinced, read the skill description.

You mean those same skill descriptions in which Joymax claims the therapy circles don't prevent attacks from champions? The first ones don't, but the higher level ones sure do. I prefer personal experience over Joymax' descriptions if you don't mind.

you see natural therapy series description is not well stated.
they mean about Preemptive attack prevention(lvXX) means only to normal monster.
Champions and Giants are exempted, just like Bard's noise.

Unlike shield technique series and fanning spear series which was clearly stated.

idk about experience cuz block chances are just like luck. sometime ago when i was lv60 blader with shield br17 and passive lv6, i block the entire 5 combo attack of heaven chain when i was attack be someone.

just like alchemy sometimes I can make +3 in 1 try and sometimes wasted around 30 elixirs and can't even make it to +3.

you can't really say that it you will charge it to experience than Joymax's description.

if you increase ur shield's br, IT WILL HAVE A HIGHER CHANCE OF BLOCKING A NUKE.
Please, but pleaseeeeeee, dont talk about things u dont know shit about. And ƒuck your expirience. I woulda rape u @ pvp.

You misunderstand what I said about therapy series: Whole Therapy and Source Therapy actually DO prevent attacks from champions, despite what the skill description says.
