Hey everyone!,

Well i'm new here.., And new too silkroad, So i was wondering.. What would be the best build for a newbie? ( European ) - Friend said that chinese are not really ' Newb ' friendly.

What i had in mind was 1h Warrior/Warlock, Or Rouge/Cleric, and maybe a Wizard/Cleric. I like them all, But don't know what would be best for a newbie like me :P

Could someone help me out, Please and thank you.

-Cory

Hi and welcome to SRF as well!

Well, actually it is a matter of personal preference and playing style, so really up to you and what character you might feel you'll be comfortable with slogging through all those levels... =)

But imho, when i started a euro char and a pure int one, i got a bit frustrated dying a lot when i was starting with my wizard build...made me a bit regretful not to have made a pure str warrior/cleric...and for me as well, chinese chars are not exactly "newb unfriendly" its just that you get to solo a lot as they are not really that required in parties...but when i did move to another server i missed my chinese bower (and the autopot spamming, hehe)...why not experiment with the different euro builds at first, as it is not that hard to level from 1-20...but when you hit around 30 at least you will be a bit familiar with your build and try to stay committed to it as you'll need to know it to be effective in a party... :D

I would suggest playing a warrior to start with, you won't die a lot, so that will let you get used to the interface, hot keys, maps, etc etc. Wizards/Bards die a lot early on. Clerics/Warlock can be tricky to start with. Rogue could work well too for you. Chinese characters are just different from Euros. If your Friend is playing Euro, I would recommend that so that you can party together and he'll probably be able to give you more tips. Then do like the other suggested, play to lvl 20, if your kind of bored of the character, then re-roll and start a new one. I wouldn't worry about a sub class just yet, learn one class first, then try for subs.

the easiest build for euro that i know of...and it's a pretty strong one is the xbow rogue/cleric(or bard:P)

the range+power is good and you'll die much less (as long as no giants appear..but you can still take them with vigor pots) and still be able to kill fast.

oh ya just take the XBOW skills for now...don't need the dagger skills..and go pure str ^_^

have fun in sro.

if you're new to the game, try to stay away from int builds, exspecially for euro, because they all die in 2 hits.

Warrior or rogue is also my best suggestion to you, get to know the game better first.

maybe later you can try out wizards and 1 hit kill things

warlocks and clerics are harder to play for beginners, and require more experience to be efficient at it. But its all a matter of personal reference.

you'll feel the *magic* when you know you love a build :)
as i always say: the build choose you, not you choose the build.

glavie was my first build too but it's hard to lvl up fast...especially at lower lvls...skills aren't too strong and you'll need lots of pots and sp for chinese chars

just try a xbow rogue..you'll like it ;P

ya i suggest watching some toutube vids to see what you like.

after that i suggest making a hybrid because almost eveyrones first char was a hyb chinese.

however i suggest starting off with chinese to start understanding the mechanics of the game more.

once youg et acquainted with the game, either watch youtube again, continue or start a new chinese char, or start a euro.

if you're starting a euro i find that by far one of the noob friendliest builds is xbow bard but people find grinding with it boring, so once again its up to you.

finally you may want to start on a server you know your friends are at, if not then do venus, i hear its pretty good, anyways good luck

I suggest 1hand or 2hand pure str european warrior. They are relatively strong and don't die in a few hits. basically, it doesn't require intense management

dont start char made for newbies. waste of time.

read the char guides and you cant go wrong,

i suggest hybris s/s 4:1 nuker.

read the guide for it on the char skills and guides part of forum. theres a link for a topic with many guides in. look for the sword hybrid guide. or check em all out

+1 :D

and yeah stay in the str builds, unless you got friends to play with then i say go wiz/cleric.
they're pretty fun in party play, and powerful and fast exp for you AND your friends :D.
