i had a pure str bow once, at first i used ice imbue till like lvl 28, then i switched to fire and was lvl 2-3x faster cuz i took the mobs faster.
so i would suggest fire, but hey, it's your own choice..... good luck^^

Fire... just for the sake of higher caps unless you wish to be rediculously slow. At the 90 cap, for an ice bow, you would need 90 ice [max your imbue dmg - duh], 90 bow [duh], and 90 fire [phys dmg increase = duh]. That leaves you with 30 light... Slow mofo anybody?

Yes but there are bards, and speed drugs to use while jobbing. How far do you have to run around to pvp around south gate anyways?

I can only share what I am doing. I am Ice Imbue ATM. I have money which I will invest in silk to delevel my Ice imbue at lvl 70. From this point on, I will Up my Fire Imbue with the SP gained from the Ice Imbue deleveling. Hence, no lost to me and I will hit harder, since Ice Imbue isn't needed after lvl 70+ for grinding. Now I will focus more on pvping.

For now, I recommend you use Fire.
I currently have lvl 5x Full Str Fire Bow.
Its has amazing Dmg.
But ice is better for pvp because ( not to state the obvious ) Freeze and Slow down, but i will be use less when high level battleling because of pills and fire shield.
So I recommend you get Fire for now, to level with.
Now if you wanna get freaky witht he PvP. then ice will do it.
Ice will help you level because the monsters will not get a chance to touch you since they wll be frozen/slow.
Fire will kill them faster.
Now you have the facts so choose.

Even though Ice can be pilled off, and many higher levels are immune, doesn't mean it's not useful. The effects that Ice Imbue add also interrupt attacks, and so if it catches, you'll have that much of an advantage over your opponents. I'd never use it in PVM, as bows have low dmg as it is. PvP-wise, especially at lower levels when people level too fast to put ice resist on their items, Ice is your bread and buter to winning 100% of every pvp fight you have.

Ice is not worth it. It has a low attack rating. Although it is good when SP farming, all it does is slow them down.
Fire on the other hand kills them before the reach you... so either way ice is not needed.
I recommend you do this;
80 Pacheon
80 Fire
80 Lightning
60 Ice
If you don't want ice then just put it on another skill, but first work on pacheon, fire, and lightning.

low lvls ice will absolutely wreck people in PVP
higher lvls when they have imune you will be kicking yourself. so id go for fire, its better in the long run pvp wise.

so i would suggest fire, but hey, it's your own choice..... good luck^^ This statement is completely wrong there is almost virtually no difference in damage between fire and ice, let alone a 200-300% difference.

If someone is immune to ice it will never ever never inflict a status effect. Same goes for all imbue status effects.
I'd never use it in PVM, as bows have low dmg as it is.
Again there is only the tiniest difference in damage. You will not use fewer skills per monster.
PvP-wise, especially at lower levels when people level too fast to put ice resist on their items, Ice is your bread and buter to winning 100% of every pvp fight you have. When fighting someone who is not ice immune you will have the best status effect of any imbue if you go ice. Even if they have pills, it will be better than fire imbue.Repercussion wrote: Ice is not worth it. It has a low attack rating. Although it is good when SP farming, all it does is slow them down.
Attack rating has nothing to do with imbue. I guess he means damage output?
Fire on the other hand kills them before the reach you... so either way ice is not needed.
Again someone who hasn't actually experienced both imbues.

Read this guide. Focus on the sections covering imbue, and damage increase.
BTW the difference in damage output between fire and ice is in the guide
