besides from the one looking cooler than the other, which one is best?
Is full int better than hybrid and does being either full int or hybrid change your opinion about protector type?

If I have recovery division, why bother taking healing cycle?
If I have group recovery, why bother taking group healing?

How much of a difference does it make in mag. def. between 1: robe and 2: LA + favor armor (cleric LA buff giving more mag. def.)?

And last: will someone powerfarm me for free :?

Thanks :D

robe looks nicer hands down. at least until 10d.

LA pwns if you have time to farm that shit. Cleric in LA = insane defenses. The passive will be like having an extra chest piece. Bard will already make up for speed.

I'm using robes until 9d for looks, than switching over to LA at 10d.

Best for what?

Being full int would give you higher damage. Going hybrid would give you more survivability in case you do get hit but you have weaker damage. It depends on how you want to play. Note that with bard, you can only get robe. With cleric you can get both robe and light armor, with added bonuses from skills.
Quote:

Healing cycle starts at lvl 20 while recovery division starts at lvl 40.
Quote:

Because group healing starts out at lvl 20 while group recovery starts out at lvl 40. Group healing also has greater range.

Thank you for the votes and replies

chickenfeather wrote:

Mostly for group pvp and pve at higher lvl mobs, being a mix of battlebard and buffer, but it's not that I like dying a lot at 1 on 1 pvp or fighting giants/party mobs. So for being able to do some damage (robe) and for not dying all the time (LA), which one brings the most advantage? Full INT already means higher damage and lower survivability, but is that enough to switch to LA?
chickenfeather wrote:

Does the mag. def bonus of the cleric make up for having LA in stead of robe?

Does this mean that healing cycle/group healing aren't necesarry after lvl 40, or are they actually very different from those other skills, and are used depending on the situation?

Thanks

Are you full INT? Do you think you would do more than only buffing if you had a robe set (being able to deal more damage)?

Well, then what does
Code: Select all
have, what you don't? I think the build does pretty well over there!

Also, do you think protector type has something to do with it?

Light armor is better because your bard makes up for the extra mp usage and the speed. But robe just looks so dam cool. What i did was; collect the first type of armor available that was 1 or 2 degrees higher then me.

A party... Warrior buffs and cleric buffs and maybe dance (didnt watch the whole vid).
Like Kingpin said, this is a party build.
Go LA. The only build with cleric sub that i think doesnt need LA is Warrior/Cleric since the 1h passives are way more usefull for the phy def and getting robes would give it a high mag def.

"And last: will someone powerfarm me for free"
hahaha infinity
you remind me of myself. When i first made my bard i had the same thought lol. What i did was; join parties and try to make friends with people from america or someone that speaks english. Luckly i meet this wizzard while he was farming his newb at ongs. We started chatting and i told him about how im gonna be a bard/cleric etc. Before i knew it we become friends, i joined his guild and his newb and i partied every weekend. IN GAME it was the best thing that ever happened to be IN SILKROAD.
So dont tell others like "plv me me go puffy all day and rezx the booty". Just try to make frineds and go from there

I'm lvl 33 now with a wolf, a lot of money, elixirs, lvl 3 trader 24%, which I think is pretty much for a lvl 33 :p, I'm full farmed to lvl 30, have 5k sp left. Also have a warrior/cleric on this server, lvl 28 and a bunch of sp...

I like the idea of going to a server with more english people and someone who knows a lot about my favourite class (the server also has a cooler name :D )

but..
I level up VERY slowly and I'm not playing that often. And I don't know how long it would take to login to phoenix. Are there a lot of euro party's? Are there a lot of bots?

With what I've listed, do you think it's worth going to another server?

The only parties on Phoenix are bot parties with like 6 wizards and 2 bards :\ You might find a few real ones at crabs or ongs, but nobody knows what they're doing and most people are too busy being powerfarmed or botting. Seriously, there are people below level 20 who are already botting. I don't know why they even bother playing. See for yourself how bad the goldbot situation is:

agreed, on Iris once I got up to the mid 40's I thought I would try the ice, it is so bad out there that I get dc'd. Soooo many bots on the ice.

For what it's worth I think your armor choice can vary depending on how sub you make your cleric. I am switching to robes for now (mid 50's) and will farm cleric skillz later on. Also 5k sp farmed is not much for a full bard/full cleric build, you might stick to cleric sub and keep res, bless, a heal or two. The low-level passives for LA may not help that much at higher levels when compared to robes, I don't know yet.

btw, what about venus? I assumed venus was the most legit server, meaning a bard/cleric would be asked for a lot in party's?

Why switching to robe? The reason I have 5k sp is because I made a 0 gap at 20, then 1 gap at 21, 2 gap at 22, etc. and 0 gap at 30 again. Maybe I should have more sp that way now I look at it, but I don't remember if I really did it like this :P

Yea I'm planning to stay full bard full cleric and level up both classes at the same time.

no less than THREE voters have chosen robe

That's more than 1 out of five!! But I don't see posts in which they explain why :(

Well in my case, there is no way I will have enough SP to do full bard/cleric as I level, even 4-gapping. So I have to wear robe since I'm not going to level my cleric past 50. I may farm later on to get full bard/full cleric.

If you can get the SP you might be better off with LA for a full bard/cleric. I thought I saw some thread that compared the magical defense of LA vs robe at 9d and 10d, but I can't find it now. If it's more than 400-500 difference then robe seems more logical.

Yes I think I've seen that post too. It compares the m-def you get from robe on the one hand and LA + favor armor buff on the other.

:!: BTW It's taking more than 3 hours already to login to Phoenix :banghead: . Are you sure it's a good server :P ?

I don't know, I've never logged on to Phoenix. I've always been on Iris. Even without premium it takes me about 20-45 minutes to log on - as long as I hit the .30 server now.
