I was reading Jakekiss 70:70 post and I could not really figure out WHY 70:70 bow and not something around 8x:6x or 8x:5x?

Anyone did the math or know why 70:70?

its almost a 1:2 int build for 70% phys. - 70% mag

a real killer along with 1:1 or any of the str hybs.

I am farming for one right now :P

why less sp?
i'd take all the attacks except autumn wind and the attack hawks for any bow build
but i dont see any oppurtunity to skip anymore skills or 70:70

Anyone did the math or know why 70:70?

They prefer 70:70 because of it's high average non-crit damage, while still dealing good critical attacks and having a good survivability. Heavy STR builds have 'strong' crits but weak normal average attacks (non-crit) and heavy INT builds have 'weak' crits and high normal non-crit damage, so 70:70 is somewhat in middle of that. Bowers with higher physical balance would have a higher survivability and 'stronger' crits, but lower average damage, while bowers with higher magical balance would have a lower survivability and 'weaker' crits, but with higher average damage. You can freely make your choice, neither one of these is "the best" or whatever. It simply is a matter of taste.

Thanks for the replies but no one really gave me the answer I was looking for (mathwise).

As for now, I'm going 8x:6x balance. I believe that would be better. :P

I'm afraid (and pretty sure) there's no math at all behind it. 70:70 (or 69:70) is simply the closest to equalized balances you can get, and that's it.

doesn't that practically answer the question?
depends on what math calculation you talking about, then figure it out by paphaell666's answer...
