Oh my god, go wizard because everyone says so
But in all seriousness, it's far easier to get into a party as a wizard than a warlock, mostly because no one really understands how warlocks fit into euro parties since there's not very many out there. Inexperience leads to simple train of thought. "Wizard = damage. Damage = good. Wiz = good." Most party leaders will unthinkingly type "PARTY 'X' LVL MOB- NEED WIZARDS ONLY" and unfortunately, they simply block out all requests besides wizards. I've seen bards, warlocks, and especially rogues turned down even if there were 4+ wizards in the party already.
Become a wizard if you want to party level really fast, considering that not many parties are welcoming to locks. More often than not, you will be told to use your subclass instead. Others can tell you reasons why to go warlock but I feel like arguing the negative. I love warlock, but get excluded from parties a lot except when playing cleric. (Cleric is an easy class to play in parties, but still... Clericking for 90 levels?)

Are warlock mains shunned upon or something? Is it an unpopular build? I even hear they have a hard time getting into parties. Is it because it doesn't produce the BIG damage that people like to see?
1. Yes, shunned by party leaders who have probably never seen one in their life.
2. Not too common, but still popular for a pvp build. I personally don't see capped warlock mains at all while pvping.
3. Yes. However if you play with knowledgeable people, then they will love to have you in a party.
4. I somehow think that in general partying opinion, people see warlocks as half-assed wizards.

It's not that way in pvp though.
I sound so bitter, haha... It was a good vent.
