I was just thinking, if a cleric starts casting offering and you ghost walk away from him, will the skill still hit you?

As far as I know yes, like any other skill will, even if it goes out of range.

if you hit the cleric at the right time while he's offering it'll still take his hp cost for the skill but before it hits, come on you can deal 10% dmg to an int can't you?

Ninja is right, even a strength buff will cancel it.

on a trade run last night I hit a thief with offering - so far away I could only see his HP bar fading.

I try really hard not to offer unless I need to. I usually always seem to lag right after offering so doesnt matter how many times I spam group recovery it never wants to go off, and I just fall over =[
I get owned by lag more then players lol

I get owned by lag more then players lol That's just a lame excuse bleh =p Joke joke, relax... But if you do offering and hit group recovery it should cast even during lag...You just don't see the animation. Otherwise try to do healing cycle on you before offering
