Euros are best pure. Why would you lower your damage for 1k hp more?
Conversely, why would you lower your survivability for 1k more damage?

Maybe wizards are best left pure, but warlocks, like some Chinese nukers, don't function exactly the same way, and have the skills to back up the tradeoff from power to HP.
That 1k Health wont help you out much. Obviously you are probably dead next hit. So if you can deal more damage faster since warlocks deal damage in terms of "DPS (Damage Per Second)" they deal very quickly which would help in droppping your opponent quicker.
What im saying is, dont make an INT euro to "tank". Make it to deal damage and kill quick.
I respect your opinion (and I know what a DoT is, been using it since level 4 >_>), and yes, obviously you are dead next hit if you get hit for 10k and you have 11k hp total. But that is the difference between dying and living; that's it all takes to win the pvp. I understand the issue of pure and hybrid is very controversial but both of them can be argued for and against. I believe your statement applies more to Wizards rather than warlocks. Adding hybridized STR points isn't so much for tanking as it is for 'barely surviving.' Wizards need to kill quick just like you said. Warlocks got those nifty stuns that can stop the enemy- all you need is extra time to retaliate. If you are not fast (or you are unlucky) and they hit you first, getting by on a few hundred HP is a freebie. The chances of this happening go up drastically when you add a few STR in. This doesn't apply to just warlocks. Cleric is another Euro INT class that does extremely well as a hybrid or even STR based, like warrior or rogue/cleric (even with MP problems). Neither Cleric nor Warlock is nearly as reliant on damage as Wizards are.
We all know how warlocks work- a bunch of other high leveled warlocks on this forum and in game have gone hybrid and there is little to no downside to it. Damage is not the most important thing, in fact, it is secondary to attack cancels and debuffs. The extra HP added increases your total chance of surviving strong hits that pures would often be annihilated by. That extra time is all that is needed to turn the tide of battle with a stun or sleep. You can't fight back when you're lying already on the ground.

At most, it would take one extra nuke to finish the enemy. If you're able to survive even one more hit than a pure, you're home free. That is the difference. (Not saying pures are bad or good. They definitely hit higher numbers, but the argument comes up in whether that is important compared to survivability.)
EDIT: Just asking, what level Euro do you have, Rosemead, and is it an INT warlock? I thought you might be speaking from experience or something, because I had problems with surviving up until level 80, and my gear wasn't half bad. After adding 4 levels of STR it's already made a great difference in surviving big hits. Do you have HP problems on your Euro?
