That's a good question. I'm a pure str glaive, and I got Ice only for the cold armor and guard of ice. You should ONLY get it if you plan to get the mastery to at least 60. Anything below that, and you will get a very small boost in phy def. I got mine to lvl 68... because at high lvls... and you do a lot of PVPing... +97 Phy Def will mean the difference between life and death. It's worth it IMO

my opinon is that if you want the ice tree as a secondary tree take it to level 60 and max passive and the phy def buff. Thats the only level you need to being it to. The amount of added phy def at lv 60 is around 85, and at about lv 57 or so is only 40 something, it have a huge increase between lv 6 and lv 7 of the buff, and another huge difference passive lv 5 to lv 6. If you bring cold to 68 for maxing the buff, you get around 15 more phy def. 10k sp + 8 masteries for 15 phy def? no thx.

if you are going to use cold as a secondary tree, only take it to 60, no lesser, no more.

my numbers may be incorrect.

The 68 ice buff has 3 things spinning around instead of 2.
