Double post removed. Next time, edit your previous post :)

Now, to your question:

INT = high damage.

A spear does higher damage than a S&S, but S&S has substantially more defense (due to the extra defense from the Shield + Block).

It's your choice really. S&S boasts Knockdowns, Stabs, and certain statuses (Bleed, Division, Impotent), from Flying Stone Smash and Lightning chain.

A spear can stun (Soul Spear) or inflict dull status (Windless spear). Also, the spear has, as stated above, higher power (as far as the nukes are concerned).

S&S vs. Spear is a defense vs. damage tradeoff. With S&S you would probably want to go pure INT, whereas Hybrid INT is recommended for a Spear.

Pure STR glaive has lots of HP and can tank very well. The downside would be the slightly lower damage and overall reduced leveling speed. :)

Think about 90 cap, there are only going to be 300 masteries then too. For 90 cap the recommended build for ints are:

Hybrid/Pure Int with spear:

90 Light (Imbue, needed for speed + mag attack buffs)
90 Spear (Weapon mastery, needed for knock backs, stuns, statuses)
90 Cold (Needed for physical defense buffs and snowsheild)

30 others, i would recommend fire for some immunity

Hybrid/Pure Int with bicheon:

90 Light (Imbue, needed for speed + mag attack buffs)
90 Bicheon (Weapon mastery, needed for knock downs, statuses)
90 Cold (Needed for physical defense buffs and snowsheild)

30 others, i would recommend fire for some immunity

Good Luck

Pure INT spear requires the extra physical Defense boost from maxed cold. Also, pure INT spear can handle a maxed 50% (60% at 90 cap) snow shield.

There's two approaches to pure INT spear at this cap, but only one viable approach at 90 cap.

80 cap -

1) 80 heuk, 80 fire, 70 light, 70 cold - Credits to 1ronMonkey (a.k.a. LockStar) from Alps.
2) 80 heuk, 80 light, 80 cold, 60 fire - classical build; offers an Advantage of Perspective for the 90 cap.

90 cap -
90 heuk
90 light
90 cold
30 fire

<<EDIT>>
As for the skills you should get, here is the outline:

Light tree is to be maxed whole. Don't leave anything out; all the buffs are useful, the Thunderbolt is your main nuke, apart from the Thunder imbue.

Cold tree: max out: Frost Guard + Passive, Snow shield and (optional): Ice rain.

Heuksal: Heuksal spear series (for Windless spear (dull Status)); Soul spear (stun); Ghost spear (knockback + AoE); the Passive and Flying dragon (optional)

From fire, take the fire shield, and a low level Flame Body. Fire protection will prove virtually useless with fire at 30.

Cheers :)

Use this to figure it out. You'll probably need 400k or more SP. You should farm in more stages (level 16, 52, 64 or 72). That is, if you want to farm by hand. The alternative (much more popular these days) is to get power-farmed at euro Ongs.

Snow shield at Lv90 isn't 60%...it's only going to be 53% '-.-

Level to Lv16, leaving your masteries at Lv7 only (for a 9-gap). Get a good Lv16+5 or a SoS Lv16+3/4/5 bow and head over to the bandit stronghold and farm on archers.

go spear for being the highest damage dealer in the game...but at a cost, cause you'll die miserably in pvp and pve

imo s/s is better cause you have a shield, and as a pure int, you already deal way more damage than str glaivers or bowers, and you have snow shield.

but if you just want ultra damage, then go spear, but I'll tell you that unless you have sun gear, you'll be pulling your hair from dying every 20 min
