So, I was browsing youtube, when I came across this video.

He casts bloodytrap, followed by sleep. The target will not wake up, eventhough you attack, until the trap explodes. I knew this bugged combo existed, but I thought you could only use DOT attacks on your target. However, this warlock also uses normal attack. This combo is overpowered, and makes a warlock have an unfair advantage over anyone without holyword.
However, it made me wonder...

If a warrior/warlock uses this combo, will it be able to attack the target without waking it up? This would make pvp against anyone without holyword very easy. When you've got your opponent sleeping, you can debuff and combo away for 6-20 secs.

So, does anybody know whether this is possible or not, and if nobody knows, would anybody with a warrior/warlock above 44 mind testing it?

Thx in advance,
~Rac00n~

Vapore is probably the most well known warrior/warlock out there.
I'm sure he knows this trap, but i think he doesnt use it because when u switch back to sword the hidden status goes away? i dno.
im pretty sure if it worked he'd use it, but he doesnt.

its probably only for the int warlocks that stay with their rod equipped, or else my friend would do that skill and then switch back to cleric rod to do an offering.

so to answer your question, i think it only works if u keep the warlock rod equipped.

Bloody Trap stays on regardless of weapon, and it stays on when the target is sleeping till the point it Explodes and deals damage, however, doing physical attacks to the enemy or any contact made by area damage to the victim will snap him out of his sleep. DoT's do not wake up the victim from Slumber, but then you'd have to be Int to make the most of that, the best thing Slumber is used for is debuffing someone and putting them to sleep, so that you have plenty of time to do a skill on them that may take considerable amount of charge time, and you dont want it to be canceled.

If the target has resistance to weakening series greater or the same to the level of your debuffs, they will not work, only one that is excluded is Wheel Bind, this debuff works regardless of any sort of resistance.

For a warlock/warrior Sleep will be more like stun.. just to stop the person from attacking you and to jam a skill but, you will have to attack them to kill.

Thanks for the answers.

I allready expected limits to this combo, otherwise, VforVendetta would probably have used this combo.
However, as you guys said, I have never thought of the fact that you can use it as a stun, because you don't cast DOT's which will give you time for an attack with a longer charge-time (berserker)

This bug will make a warlock/cleric extemely hard to beat. When you've got no holyword, you're as good as dead. If you have, he can always stun and use offering. Fortunately, there are nearly no higher lvl warlocks...

Thx for the replies, though I'm tempted to try a warlock/cleric now :p

yea its good for warlock cleric.

but the trap doesnt work if someone has an ice wall up.
fails 100% of the time =P

the wall also prevents them from leeching HP.
so the warlock/clerics as good as dead with a nice bow crit.

Glaivers and Bladers are left standing there, and their distance skills are limited and weaker.

this doesnt work on warrior/warlock though, the ice wall easily breaks due to the warriors attacks being physical. I think u'd have to use the fire wall to mess up warrior warlock and pray he hasnt invested in any magically based attacks.
