Hi Guys,

I have decided to make cleric, which I plan to use only, i repeat only for buffing and healing. I am totally not interested in Pure Offering and the attacking capabilities of the cleric, because as I said i will use for buffing and healing. Because I want it to be hard to kill I was thinking to make it pure str. But one think bothers me lately. I wonder if at higher levels he will have enough mana for buffing and healing if I make him pure str.

What is your opinion, should i make it hybrid?

Thank you in advance for your replies.

What subclass? Cleric/wizard?? What's your primary going to be?

Or reverse it, make it wiz/cleric, you require less SP in your subclass, no requirement for offering, etc and you can still hit hard as a wiz. However, you DON'T want to do a hybrid if you go that route.

Warrior/cleric if you want.

Remember you can't buff yourself for a lot of stuff.

Thank you for your suggestions, but I think you didn't quite get my question. I dont care about any subclasses. No wiz, no warrior. I just want to make the best surviving cleric and my main concrn is if i make it pure str will it have enough mana to buff and heal, or I have to make it hybrid for the extra mana?

I would appreciate any opinions about it.

Mmm you only want to be buffing, and healing. I would say pure int or a heavy int hybrid but certainly not a pure str since you will not have enough MP to do continuous heals, or buffs and your heals will be less powerfull(they depend on your weapon and magical balance too). Besides purely as a support char you should be in a good party. And in a good party you don't receive any hits so pure int or heavy int hybrid would be the best.

SpoT^

for support char a pure str bard/cleric works well...

you never run out of mp and have hp to take hits

though... you wont ever be able to lvl up without plvl

Thank you all guys for your precious advices :). I think i will stay pure str cleric then. This way I will have the chance to lvl up a rogue or warrior later. If I run out of mana I will use vigors.

Thank you once again for the input.

cleric is pretty invincible when it is full int anyway. making it full str for the hps is a pretty bad idea since you can heal. at lvl 30 you get your first heal over time spell. you just cast it on yourself right before it runs out and you will practically never die. not to mention you get to use bless every few minutes. and if you take bard as a subclass you dont have to worry about mp either. so a cleric/bard is pretty much invinsible and you never have to buy any pots. im level 34 cleric/ 30 bard (pretty much solo'd the whole way) and i have never bought a pot. and i just found out i can solo on lvl 44 mobs quite easy.

edit part:

not to mention the more int you have the higher you will heal.

You just forget one little but important part here, if you switch weapons from cleric rod to harp a lot of buffs for your party from your cleric will dissappear and you have to recast them. But since you solo a lot you probably don't have that problem.

ya, but its not that hard to just recast them. its worth it in the end for the free mp. if you time it right you still have full mp after you rebuff.

i agree that full str for cleric is a big waste
i also disagree that full anything is the best for euro
for you i would go with cleric with srt30%/int 70% hybrid
that will give you good heal ability and some defense too
and some attack ability (it gets boring to just heal only)
not all parties need continue healing, so you may want to contribute
in the attack
8)

stay close to pure int the lack of mp when you add too much str combined with the pot delay of euro will make your build useless

the point of a support is that everyone protects you and you keep them healthy :D

im only lvl 37 now and full intelligence and almost completely soloed. i dont remember the last time i died. hit points has not been a problem yet. i never enter a fight without casting the lvl 30 heal over time spell on me first. i never let that heal over time spell run out. i only have to use bless on party giants, and then only when they are a few lvls higher than me. and i can easily solo mobs 10 lvls higher. so str, for just the hits is a complete waste. the more int the harder you hit, the better you cure and the more effective you will be.
