I've finally decided to make a Wizard, but now i'm thinking about which sub-mastery to pick.

If i go Full Bard, i'll take pretty much all the party spells, such as Mana Cycle, the Tambours, a few Dances, everything you need to have to be able to play as a Bard in a party if the need arises. It'll also improve greatly my soloing ability since i'll obviously take Moving March/Noise.

If i pick sub-cleric, i'll only pick those spells that will contribute to me personally, such as Bless or Recovery Division, since i find it extremely dull to play as a Cleric in a party and i rather not go there. This sub-mastery will make me stronger in PvP but i reckon i'll have a much harder time soloing and i'll have less of a party value since i'll only be able to play as a Wizard.

SP farming is not a problem for me.

Thanks.

I'd go with the cleric sub. Sure a wiz/bard gives you at least 4/8 party spots but whats the point in hitting level 100 if your a toothpick? I have a bard/wiz and pvping isn't fun at all.

If you want to enjoy partiing around then go bard/wiz . It's awesome. Main bards ALWAYS get into parties :D

If you want to pvp and solo, go wiz/cleric. Sure you won't be moving around fast, and will miss noise, but you won't die at solo grinding, and will be able to kill giants with bless. :)

edit : the cleric's absoluteness damage deals enough damage to kill a pure int. And since it ignores EVERYTHING your pvp chances against ints will grow :) (But warrior/clerics will use this tactic too, and you will fcking get pwned always by them :) )

Wizard Cleric is more effective, and dies alot less than wizard/bard

If you hate clericing I'd go bard for sure.
you won't be able to 1v1 pvp, but wizards suck at that anyway.
In parties you will shine, being in a party with another bard and playing as a battle bard is awesome.
You shouldn't die while grinding either, just grind on mobs you can onehit and save zerk for giants, they'll go down faster than they can deal enough damage on you.
in parties as a bard you won't be spending much on pots, as you rarely get hit and you have mana cycle/orbit to keep your MP up, which means you'll only be spending gold on repairing your equipment.
gl with whatever you choose
