Is it worth getting the attack hawks or should I just stick with the ar increase hawks?

depends on the situation, say your grinding, it would be smart to use the attack hawk, and in pvp- versus something wearing armor, it will generally not hit alot, and the a/r would be moar helps.

Indeed.
White/Blue Hawk for PvP
Black/Lightning Hawk for Grinding. It's like having two wolves, and makes the difference between killing a mob in Strong bow (or devil arrow) + combo (200% skill) and Strong bow + anti-devil (250% skill). That's a rough estimate of the damage difference, and increase in effectiveness. :)

I personally dont like the attack hawks. They only ever attack one person so when grinding and attacking multiple mobs at once you dont get as many benefits from it.

Very few archers grind AoE. Most people grind with Strong bow, Anti-devil and arrow combo. Here, an attack hawk helps.

On my hybrid archer, I was grinding with Mind Bow, Explosion arrow, Autumn wind and Light nuke. In that case, attack hawks don't help indeed.

I dont see why an archer wouldn't aoe grind though. Thats what give archers such good grinding speed, their ability to attack multiple mobs at once without having to move. Hell every build should aoe grind, attacking mobs one at a time is such a silly waste of time >_<

I'm only going to have attack rating hawks, just to save extra SP farming.

According to that, the AR hawk doesn't level up from 87-100. The attack hawk does. I would go with the attack until they update it.

The reason for most people probably is the following:
On my STR ice archer (at 70 cap) I could go through a grinding session (bow durability end) without using more than 50 HP potions. Of course I wasn't AoE grinding. I would repair gear once every two or three days.

However, AoE grinding on my hybrid bow, I'd go through ~400-500 HP pots and repair gear every time my bow's durability got to 0.

AOE grinding with Hyb makes far more sense since you'll probably be us light imbue, add that to all the AOE attacks and the dact you have Snow Shield, Your flying.

you are really going to regret not having silk to buy 10k arrows tho..

Problem with AOE grinding for bows *correct me if I'm wrong* is that Bow's don't have many AOE skills which makes it a little bit more difficult to AOE grind....Or at least thats what I hear

When I'm grinding, I only fight 1v1. A lot easier than having four or five mobs on you, especcially if the mob has Knockbacks (god damn stupid evil wolves). When I've faced several wolves, I try to attack one but I always get knocked back so I end up running away.

Explosion series, Mind bow, Autum wind. 7 sec cool down on the first book of the first two skills and 5 second cool down on Autum wind. Through in the occasional Anti devil arrow or strong bow if the cooldowns aren't working well and problem solved.

I say get them. Even though some people believe you should "AOE grind". AOE grinding seems very inefficient. For one, you don't have many AOEs. Explosion series is lovely, Autumn Wind is pathetic, and Mind bow is random. You'll just keep drawing more to you causing you to spam pots and your durability will last 5 seconds. On top of that when you really look at it, you're not killing the other mob. The only way you even kill one with AOE ONLY is if you're attacking a party/giant or something that can withstand a ton of attacks for the light AOEs to hit. Why do that, when you can pwn 1 mob in 3 seconds and then move to the next, never - rarely using pots. And keeping durability maxed. Its cost efficient, and its grind efficient. AOEs isn't what make bows grind fast. The range is. Its not "Attacking multiple mobs without having to move" It's not having to move period. You kill one, turn and go to the next one.

DA Warrior can kill multiple mobs without having to move, their AOEs are about as good as Explosion series. And trust me, its not happy camping in grind land. Strong Bow is the way to go. Kill your mob fast, move on. However the AOEs are still awesome because they are stronger than the Anti-Devils. So obviously they have their uses, but it's not the fastest grind style around.
