Hi there. I bought few days ago notebook Compaq Evo N1015v with 512MB ram and unlucky (now i know it) ATI RADEON IGP 320M (called U1) integrated with mbo. Installed DX 9.0c (4.09.0000.0904), Mbo controlling system, XP with SP2 and almost all updates
History:

1.Oryginal driver from hp/compaq site ver 6.13.xx.xxx fails with information Microsoft Visual C++ runtime error after Gameguard loads
2. Google searched, known silkroad forums searched
3. Solution: Download newer driver
4. Trying to find newer driver for IGP 320M at ATI/AMD site - fail
5. Trying to install drivers from other RADEON series - fail, appears some info about unknown gpu and switching into standard vga driver (but i can't find and select it from all list of Graphic drivers),
6. Trying to install drivers from SRO databank - failed
7. Found on third party sites that omega drivers are solution
8. Omega drivers ver. 3.8.330 (based on 6.14.xx.xxx drivers) installed with successfully
9. Game fails to start up.
10. After Gameguard loading 1st window said: D3D9 Application
Warning: Nothing will be rendered. The reference rendering device was selected, but your computer only has a reduced-functionality reference device installed. Install Dx SDK to get the full reference device
11. After that next window shows up: Generic application error Enable debug output for detailed information This program will now exit. After that ??? and sys info window show.
12. I've started DxDiag utility and in Screen section under DirectX Functions I've got only DirectDraw Tests active.
DirectDraw Acceleration: Unavailable
Direct3D Acceleration: Unavailable
Texture Acceleration AGP Unavailable
All Off options are inaccessible Perhaps not certified Omega drivers are the cause.
13. Trying download 441 Mb April 2007 Dx SDK file
14.. to be continued

SRO Player from Poland Servers: Venice and Alps. Person which give best solution will be granted with some bonus

I would like to apologize for my language but my language skills are still under development

wOOt looks like u gotta hella lot of problem with ur COMPAQ :)

Ok where to start from, I need to know wat is the graphics card (full details) with the drivers that you have installed as of now?

Capture a screen shot of te device manager for Graphics adapter, chk tis link out, tells u how to get to device manager, http://www.annoyances.org/exec/show/article01-420

This seems to be a more of directX problem than ur driver problem for your graphics card, but cant confirm on it yet...
BTW did u download the latest version of SDK DX, this is from microsoft, but jus check on GOOGLE for the latest version,
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/deta ... laylang=en

Message and lemme know on how it went .... hope u get on te game soon :D

The Integrated Graphic Processor 320M is a VERY old series (dating as far back as '03), and even though it is still being sold and it's drivers updated, the card itself is not powerful enough to support intense 3D graphics, and is therefore not suitable for this game. The only solution I can offer you is install a non-integrated card on your system that has good performance (nVidia recommended, they have much less problems than ATI cards with 3d applications and games).

Yeah. The graphics "muscle" on your graphics card isn't enough to handle Silkroad. At the bare minimum you need DirectDraw Acceleration, Direct3D Acceleration and AGP Texture Acceleration to all be enabled. Since this is a laptop, it sounds like installing a new graphics card isn't possible. Thus, it will be almost impossible to play Silkroad on that laptop since you cannot upgrade it. Your only other option is to buy a desktop or to buy a new laptop.

Right ddcc Actually I'm on my way to build up "new" "old" desktop. I bought P4 1,5 Ghz and searching other parts Price of that processor was: 11 USD with package and transport. Now trying to get some 478 nice MBO After that I'll try to get some nice Graphic Card based on Nvidia GPU. Ati got a big minus :D Joymax too because they are unable to solve my laptop problem or even say something. Look at oryginal silkroad forum and you'll see many visits without reply from BOTMAX :D I must to be fast in building my comp instead of Event/ Europa Map on iSRO and some upgrades such as wings etc etc. I'm really p....d on that I'm 40 lvl Glavier full str still.

Regards 2 all

Since you're getting a new system, you might as well see if you can get one that support SATA II and PCI Express if you have that much cash.
