 Post subject: internet connection HALP!

ok so a couple of days ago my modem took a big SHIT!
somehow i got the internet back running...
but my internet connection runs from both the ethernet cable, and the usb cable...
and now my upload speed is a piece of crap because im unable to get the usb cable connection running...
it says limited or no connectivity because it cant look for a network adress...
i still have internet and all but i cant upload any pics into my photobucket until i have that usb connection running...
please help to get that connection going... what do i have to do so it aquires the network adress... lol

i think your talking about a cable modem

do a few things..
unplug the usb cable..

1 unplug power of all devices modem, pc(turn off the pc first and copy the instructions), router. wait about 2 mins and plug it all back in.

2 reinstall nic drivers if it is on board then reinstall mobo drivers and chip set drivers.

3 if you can get one pick up a new straight through cable to see if it is the cable that is bad.

4 if all else fails call your isp and tell them.. it may be a faulty modem
