Hit ratio noob question

Can someone tell me what Hit Ratio means and does?

Notice on your Weapons in the Phy Defense section where a number is shown.

Example: 450~590

Hit Ratio allows the player to hit toward the higher number, in this case 590. The lower the Hit Ratio is, the more you will hit toward the 450. Hit Ratio is very important so you get the biggest bang for your buck.

Recap:
- low Hit Ratio = damage closer to 450
- high Hit Ratio = damage closer to 590
