I'm making a pure str bow, and in a couple of other places, I think I posted that I would make it ice/light with some heal, and I was wondering, is it worth the sp to put around 32 levels into fire for the flame body and cheolsam thing (or whatever, the passive one)

1. Pure strength uses phys atk. They lack in attack (compared to nukers) and magical defense, and try to make up for it by wearing garms.
2.Lets see what these things give you:
Ice---Extra phys defense. You have plenty of this. (Soon) Mana shield--makes some of your mp into hp. This will be somewhat useful, but you already have a lot of hp. Also gives you a great imbue and freezing skills (that one can become immune to!!)
Light---Extra mag atk (you don't use that much), parry ratio, and speed. The speed is nice.
Force---Gives you extra mp and healing skills.
3. Ah yes. Fire is probably the most important force tree for any str build, as it gives extra physical attack (something you need), extra magical defense (also something you need), the most damaging imbue (to increase your pitiful str damage some more), and the fire shield, which can make you immune (with some alchemy) to frost and lightning imbue effects, making fire the most deadly imbue.
My advice---- go bow-fire-light, and lvl up ice with any remaining masteries. If you really want heals, drop ice and/or light a few lvls so that you don't run into mastery space trouble at really high lvls. You might want to get there first before worrying about that though.

No offence, but I've read what you've said a million times :P (not that many), and I've figured out I'm going to be an idiot with ice, but my question which you didn't answer :? is:
is it worth the sp to put around 32 levels into fire for the flame body and cheolsam thing (or whatever, the passive one)
EDIT* and why aren't quotes working

Drop the Force mastery as it will only bring you headache when the dead ones scream for res every 2 mins when they know you got it.
Level up Fire, Light, and Cold. Fire and light for the obvious reasons. I say take Ice a little way for the imbue when you get into an agro situation in PvE. Yes, everyone knows it blows in PvP, but it is the shyte in PvE. nd if you are a bowman, you need time to get that devil arrow and such out there.

Yes it is worth the 32 masteries for the physical increase, that is exactly what I am doing. At high level you can also be immune to status effects if you get the fire shield buff. Don't bother getting it now though, because they may change the way it works.
How high were you planning to take force? The problem is you can only have 300 masteries.
Generally it is better to focus in a few areas then spread yourself out and be weak in everything.

^^ good point, actually i thought force would save:
1. space (arrows take too much space...)
2. hp pots? cos it seems healing recovers more hp than mp used, and mp and hp pots cost the same
glavie: well, I've got some ice, lightning, force, pacheon so thats 4 trees, which isn't too bad, but if I add fire to that, should I drop force, then use fire imbue instead of ice/lightning, and I saw on the poor debate of 84 pages on the 70:70 hybrid, should I switch to that?

Well in my opinion the 70:70 build isn't that good or bad. Just different. And now with so many people doing it It really isn't unique anymore. honestly, my gut feeling is any balance for bow will work. It seems that str hybrid is considered quite good. The trick is to find the balance that fits your playing style.
And in my opinion leveling 4 trees is to much. My build is Ice, light, bow, and 32 fire. That is a LOT of SP. I can't imagine needing anymore sp. If you are gapping be prepared to level very slow.
