I have some questions about bladers.

1. Should I even consider making a blader as my first character?

2. How much SP do you need for a decent blader? Is SP Farming required?

3. If I don't spend like months farming like 1859674564564 SP, what gap should I leave my skills at?

4. Should I get the smashing series and blade force series?

5. Did you SP Farm? If so, how much SP did you farm?

Oh, and I checked the blader guide. Hope you guys can help me out...

Blader should not be your first character. You won't have the money to buy good gear unless you find them. Make a nuker first, fast lvling and fairly cheap. Maybe a bit pot intensive... But otherwise, it's good. A decent blader, full farmed, would need 120k+ SP? Correct me if I'm wrong. I'm not sure about question 4. And yeah I did SP farm. But barely... And I'm regretting it alot :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:

1. i would suggest a pure STR glaiver for your first char, pretty easy to use, and you wont die that much, nice for pvping aswell.

2. depends what skills you want, i wouldnt say chains are 100% needed, i only grind with the smashing series. alot faster, and easier on the durability. i onyl use chains on giants.

3. same as above, go to here http://sro.mmosite.com/x/

4. i suggest you do, low mp cost, quick damage

5. i farmed 15k at level 16, it got really boring de leveling every day with no one to res you...

so i 0 gapped to 42, then built up my gap from 45 > 52 (good amount of sp there) and farmed the rest at 52

You've all got some good arguements.

But the thing is, ofcourse he can do a blader for a first char, i can't imagina why not. The only con about it is to be effective you'll ne a lot of SP.

It still is an easy build to play, he wont die often for example.

One of the main problems of bladers is that they level really slow, they are the slowest levelers of the game, so if this is your first character ( im assuming your first time playing) then i suggest another build that would help you level quicker, maybe a pure strength glaive. A good tanker and also great at dealing damage and at pvp. Another problem of bladers is that they also require in insane amount of sp farming and you also need a lot of money for a blade and shield. But if its not your first time playing then i suggest you go for it and try it out although leveling is a real pain in the butt.

slow leveling = boring

boring = quit

bladers dont get fun untill the triple stab in my opinion, and thats longgggg

whereas glaivers get their Soul and ghosts quite early, which are alright at pvp even at low levels, with minimal farming, you basically only need these 2 skills throughout the whole game

If bladers are that bad, why bother playing them? Otherwise, thanks for the help.

bladers arent bad, they are GREAT. its just they are HARD and SLOW. but once you finally get them to the cap and farmed. they pwn, and are by far best tankers / support chars. which is why my blader will also be our guild resser.

Oh. So I choose to farm only like 10k SP, what gap do I need to leave it at to get the amount of SP needed for one imbue and one weapon mastery?

well....

if you are only doing imbue and weapon mastery, and you are going fire blade, then you are gonna be one slow mofuka, bucause you need lightning for grasswalk.

so i would say get lightning, fire, and bicheon. and level with a 3-5 gap all the way after farming your 10k at 16. then when you hit 52 do a lot of farming there at a decent gap, then go for the cap to finish your farming.

but like everyone says bladers require a ton of SP, (especially my build which is also a healer)

so yea. theres what i would do if i were you. but you probably gonna get bored and end up closing your gap to 1 or 0 and levelling. if you do that, then farm at the cap.

Well, here is the question you should ask yourself, are you good at making money? I chose blader cuz i knew i would be able to make a good amount of $ and therfore get pretty good gear. Yes bladers do level the slowest, but honestly, not that much slower. You should farm around 50K or more if possible at lvl 16 then 5-6 if you want to be really strong. If you dont feel like working hard at farming and leveling, then nuker is your best choice. When your lvling 2 lvls a day in the 20s/30s your gunna love it. BUT personally, doing the same like 3 things your entire sro kinda would bore me. In the end, hard work DOES indeed pay off, bladers are best at lvl 70, but idk about 80 :banghead: . Either go int spear or str galvie if u want a fast fun 1st char.

bladers lvl slow yes, but are THE VERY BEST TANKERS IN THE WHOLE GAME OF ISRO!!! its mainly cuz of their shield, and with a good br, they will dominate pvp
the problem i had was the slow leveling-i never got past lvl 20 before stabbing my keyboard, banging my head on my screen :banghead: and punching my wall out-but if u have patience(patience is a virtue!) then go blader, they WILL use less pots, cuz of the shield defense, and the skills use virtually a ton less mp than say glavie skills. anyway, im a pure str glavie cuz of the fast lvling and (somewhat) cool and damaging skills
get to the cap and BAM! killing spree! u will need to go fire though, cuz if u go ice, then u make a slow leveling build EVEN SLOWER! or lightning, but i HIGHLY recommend fire

it's gonna be a long year for me in 2007, cause I'm planning to go Ice/Lightning on my blader character.

Don't even bother talking me out of it, because it's too late

I guess I'll farm as much as I can before I suicide. What's the significance of level 52? I mean, why choose that level to continue farming? New weapon?

Oh, and I guess I'm pretty lucky. I started during an event, so I made some easy money. :)
