Hunger points. It slowly "drains" down while you've activated your pet until it hits 0 and your pet dies.
HGP can be recharged by either hunger pots which you can buy at any stable. Each pot raises it's HGP 10%. Or by leveling up your wolf which will recharged it's HGP by 100%.

Oh and when your pet's HGP gets under the 30%, his attack will be cut in half (the dmg that is). To restore it back to full attack damage, use pots till the HGP is over 30% then unsummon and resummon the pet.
yeah xD in first i didn't even notice that.. my wolf never seemed to loose many hgp.. but on higher lvl's he started to lose alot >< than i was like 'wth is going on?' xD so i ran through all the city's trying to find something.. xD at the end i just looked at stable keeper's xD
