Hi. Today me and my friend were trading from Samarkand to Constantinople.
We both had 1 star trade, he is lvl 32 and I'm 38.
Every thing was ok, but when we reached the Ong habit a Player Thief came and killed my friend.
Sooo..... HOW ??

You mean how did he kill you or how is it possible that he attacked you at all?

If your friend was over level 40, then deleveled to 38 maybe?

I was thinking along the lines of over 40 while trading - you no longer have protection. If deleveling to 39/40 means you lose that protection, that's one possibility; otherwise it's the usual mob dragged on you that you didn't see, or he was invisible, and you did splash damage on a mob, which then makes you offender, which means he can attack you.

Not sure what else there is, I haven't done a 1* trade for a long time. I just hunt.

I think you have protection still...even until lvl 40 99.99%...it's when you hit 41 that you lose it. Also...Akum's razor says that the answer is probably that he did a 2* by accident. =P

2* and above can be attacked at ANY level.

A thief is able to attack and kill people by the PK method. Some thieves use it on lower level trades.

Another way to explain it is that your friend attacks the thief first.

I have no personal experience on this, but as far as i've read, even if a trader is on 1* and below 40, if he attacks another thief, the thief can attack back ( and kill him, of course ).

Some thieves will try "noobing" so that the trader goes agro and smack him/her --> take a advantage of the situation i said above.

Hope i helped.
