Getting quest items in item-share/non exp-share pt

Just wondering, will quest items drop if the party is only set to item share and not exp share? Trying to help a guild mate get hearts, but we'd thought it'd be faster if we don't have to kill the pt mobs. So, anyone know if this is possible?

Yeah as long as it's item share, they should drop.
