I've been PMed this a couple times when standing in town. What the hell does it mean? No one will tell me.

It means: How are you? You can respond on it with a.s.

salaam alaykum (dunno if that spelling is right) means "peace be to you", it's a greeting. Just reply "a.s." but be sure to tell them you don't speak the language...otherwise they may continue to pm you.

edit: check out the wiki

I always reply with a "hi :)" or "hello :)". So the player knows that I'm using English and he knows that I understood his friendly greeting and I returned it. You see it often when a player joins a party. It's just a very friendly way to say, Hi, how are you.

It is turkish (i thought) for hi, how are you. The proper reply would be a.s., but i wouldn't recommend using it.

I used to do so, but the people kept on talking turkish to me, even though i said a lot of times english please, i dont understand you.

Replying with hi or hello spares you this trouble.
