Ive checked out a lot of different guides before I began making my character and I would alwasy hear talk of Garment or Protector, but never Armor. So is it useless, or is it actually good for some builds, if so which ones?

It's the more common gear for int builds. Deffintly not useless.
Sorta like garment but instead of been very good for mag def
it specialises in phys deffence. :) I use it on my s/s int.

Most people say armor is useless because at higher levels people get +5 gear so they dont need armor cuz at high levels ice gives lots of phys defense for ints but since they dropped fire they need mag. defense so they make a prot or garm set

Besides protector and garment decreases mana consumption of skills (%10 for protector and % 20 for garment ). So its helpful for str as well as int characters considering mana requirements of higher lvl skills.

Lets say you grind on phy based mobs as a glaiver.

Armor->Less hp pots, more mp pots.
Garment->Less mp pots, more hp pots.

I don't get it :(

on higher lvls most monsters do mag damage, so the best would be prot/garment, ur also slower in armor, and for one reason i pwn ppl with armor on so easy, and im pure str, prot is way harder imo
