You Want to be a Thief?
Well, you have come to the right place.

Thief Guild.

When Becoming a Thief you should enter the Thief guild
  • If you're Chines this guild can be found behind the stable in Jangan
  • If you're European this guild can be found behind the guild make Demetri. One of the guards at the Dock can sen you there.

Rules of the Lifestyle.

  1. Don't trust anyone
  2. Samarkand is the best place to find loot
  3. Don't trust other thieves, especially ones higher level than you.
  4. This is all in good fun. If you don't need the money and just want the exp, make sure to give the gold back to the trader.
  5. Make sure to stalk before attacking.
  6. Bargain goods time in Jangan is a great time to attack and steal from unsuspecting traders.

Goods you should purchase

  1. Horse Potions
  2. Horse Pills
  3. Transport pets
  4. Thief Return scroll
  5. Thief Suit.

General Tips

  1. Traders usually die on going from sam-const or vice-versa. You can find loot laying around.
  2. Join a thief Guild and Union.
  3. Smart Traders that solo 2 stars never use the road.
  4. Bargain goods don't give star protection.
  5. Always be on the look out for a hunter that can kill you.
  6. Stay hidden and be sneaky.
  7. Learn the Routes most traders use.
  8. Learn the Degrees of Equipment.

Have a wonderful journey on the silkroad. :)

Nonsense... level 21 is the perfect time. You get to get owned so that you come back with a vengeance 50 levels later.

Based on the gear he is wearing. Learn to distinguish each degree from the others, learn the routes, and learn the buffs. In a few weeks time, you'll be able to identify solo multi-star trades from solo single star trades. Its all trial and error.

Oh I remember the old days when I really wanted to be a thief. And 2 years later I got a high level character I still want to be a thief. But sadly what happened to this game prevents me to be a good thief. No more 1 star popping :x LOL

The new trade system has a better Risk:Reward ratio, imo.

But I still love the good old days where there are lots of traders, hunter and thieves all around. Now you only see bots running. And if ever you see a trader it's just 1 star. Coward!

That was the best. There were more risk than rewards, but it was more fun. Everyone was the enemy, any person around you could be a thief, hunter, or even trader in disguise.

LOL yeah. You found a thief in JG area thought he's an ally because your a thief as well. All of a sudden he takes his thief suit off and restarts the game, when you see him again his already a hunter hunting you. LOL oh the good old day was much much better than today.

Those were only the good days for people who actually could kill other traders, hunters, and thieves. AKA Not me, my max character during that time was lvl 35. Even if there were noob thieves running around, you couldn't touch them cuz they had like 500 friends.

It was semi-annoying. I do like the new system, but it protects traders, but offers no protection to low level hunters or thieves. Thus it makes it unfair for jobbing. Hunters and thieves are crawling looking for something to steal, traders are merrily doing 1 star trades on some lvl 39 char that they made just to get some cash.

The thing I do miss about the old system was switching jobs... It was fun to hunt one day, then do a trade run later, then thief on the weekends.... but no... not anymore. Wait 7 days, then you can hunt for one day, then wait another 7 days, then you can thief on the weekend... 7 days? I know people were relogging to switch jobs, but 7 days is a bit much XD.

LOL I was just lvl 37-39 that time. Highest member of our guild and a real life friend was 42. That's the thrill, you have to keep an eye for traders with more that 1 star and you have to keep an eye for hunters lvl 70.

If you're wearing a thief suit you can only attack people wearing hunter id and trader flag. When you're not wearing anything meaning you're a civilian atm, you're not allowed to attack anyone because it would be murdering. And even if you can, you still can't rob them for the only people you can rob are those traders with special goods on their transport.
