Since this is a general Discussion, and the christmas event is coming soon. LEt us acknowledged ourself about christmas.

According to my research, tHe definition for Christmas means, Christ = christian's saviour, God, Jesus; Mas = Mission, or a move to pursue one's order. So putting "x" to replace christ means to reject, or to discontinue using christian's God in christmas. The true meaning of christmas is to celebrate the born of Jesus that has bring hope to all mankind.

I may refer santa as a figure that has been brought to reality to disrupt christian's faith and understanding the true meaning of christmas, and to discontinue the christians beliefs. Childrens nowadays are more interested in santa rather than God himself.

WHAT is wrong with Santa? As you can see, i have figured it out that the "N" in the centre of the word "sa-N-ta". Prehaps, the N belongs in the end of the word. That is "SataN". I can conclude that santa is a figure that has been brought alive today to halt the young generation of christian's faith.

As we all know, Santa wears red. And Satan is also referred to the color red. THe color of torment, drudgery, and the fiery never-ending hell. Santa is Not A figure to put our beliefs on.

By these clarification, santa is a fraud. It doesn't exist, and actually santa refers to - Satan.

Be referring to the some other language, santa also refers to saints. but saints dont wear red clothing. And saints dont have lepercaun to assist them. But Satan do have their fellow ghouls.

I conclude that people should realize the real meaning of christmas and start to reject santa and the use of "x-mas".

This is going to end in a flame, I my self do not care for the real meaning of x-mas, since i am not a christian. Even if i was X-mas is not that big of a deal to me any more. You sort of grow out of it when you move away from home.

I must note that many Christians use xmas as a short form of Christmas. They base this on X <-- being the actual shape of the cross Christ was crucified on. It has been shown that the classic t shape is incorrect.

And Christmas itself is a short form. It used to be Christ's Mass. Which means The gathering of people in the name of Christ.

As far as "Santa vs Satan" Santa means Saint or is derived from the word Saint in most Germanic lanuages. That and Satan is a "Fallen Angel" God kicked him out of heaven when he disobeyed him and tried to take over. Thus it could be said that the word Satan is derived from the word Saint as well.

The Myth of "Santa" is that he selflessly gives. He works all year to give away all that he has worked for to Children. He was taught in churches throughout europe in the middle ages as the "ideal" to strive for. While Satan on the other hand does not work all year/all minute for anyone but himself.

Thus I must refute much of what you type here.

I'm not Christian but I still decrorate my house, put ornaments on the trees and socks at the fireplace. The house doesn't look like a home withtout decorations.

For me, Christmas was the time of year where the family would fight even more so than the other months. Then, because its Christmas, they would fight about how your not supposed to fight. Christmas day, everyone was to at least pretend to like each other and be nice. If you didn't put on your fake face so the rest of the relatives saw us as a happy family, there would be a fight.

What makes it worse for me as a memory, the shit things my parent(s) did over Christmas times, they won't acknowledge and conveniently 'don't remember' or 'never did that' in their mind.

For years I have insisted that I AM NOT participating in Christmas, I'm not buying anything so PLEASE don't buy me anything either. Yet for some reason, they call and say "you drew so-and-so out of the hat". Well, why am I in the god damn hat? Now I have to participate in Christmas, or some poor kid goes without a gift. THAT would be even more wrong.

Now that I'm older and making good money (I put 4k in my checking last week) everyone expects some uber gift, and even if bills are tight for the month, I feel compelled to spend a minimum of $100 on people in exchange for the gifts given to me.

Last year my GF at the time liked playing pool with us. So I got her a professional cue she picked out, half graphite / half fiberglass, with case (additional $55 for case LOL) and guess what? I got dumped anyway like a month later.

No man. I mean they LOVED the christmas tree.

Their tree would be up well past May, and the whole family would sleep around the tree. Like sleeping bags sprawled out underneath it. Hey - I like the tree too. I had sex under the tree once (Merry Christmas!). But I don't go through withdrawal without the thing, like mutants who are drawn to its promising light.

In Spanish, Santa means "saint" and refers to a woman. For example, Santa Maria.

So Santa Claus could just be a hairy, fat woman who bears gifts. I like the idea of a plump, motherly grandma cavolting about at night in my chimney better than a fat, old man anyways.

But keep in mind that another name for Santa Claus is Saint Nicholas.

By the way, God spelled backwards is Dog. I think you should over-analyze that little tidbit as well.

seriously? this subjects comes up every Christmas. i think we should just drop this and enjoy Christmas with our friends and family. Such a festive and happy time can't have been brought to us by the Devil can it?

Lolz...anyway, anyhow, The devil always has his own ways to halt the world from believing in God. Evil is within us and satan is always lurking around each and every person. And reacts in war, hate and many diffrent forms of reaction. Evil is injected to every person, but it is faith that halts evil.
