Nice title. It's suppose to be "Why I bot and you're jealous." That alone made me not want to read the article. And as for being jealous that you can bot... hell no im not jealous. I would take no joy in having something that i didn't earn.

I can vouch for mano on that one, and I have the utmost respect for him. Leveling a blader with no silk to level 59 now I believe. Hooah Mano :D

A brief summary.

A poor botter who attempts to justify his reason for botting. His reason, he has a life. The rest of the details are irrelevant.

Just another poor soul who doesn't realize that his reasons for botting contradict his insults against us for not botting.

I'm lvl 56 blader. No item mall and don't plan on using it anytime soon. I would be 70 by now if I really wanted to but I there is no reason to rush to the cap. I guess I have no life.

No one said you had to reach the max lvl in in a month or two or even half year. Its a Korean MMORPG. Your reasons are pointless. Have a nice day.

First off...I have no sympathy for botters. I am 23, Married, my wife is a teacher, and I have a 75 hr a week job, as well. SRO is not just about the end game...there is a lot about the game that you botters completely miss. Now, I don't spend a lot of time ranting about how much botters suck...yada yada yada, but when a botter beats me in pvp and gloats over how they can lvl faster, make more money and get more drops...yeah...I get pissed. I play my characters myself. I research builds, and work together with my guildmates to make our characters the best we can, completely legit. You do whatever you want, but man...don't tell me you are better at SRO than me, just because you have a lvl 70 fully farmed (botted) character...I work hard for my character, and I take pride in my abilities. Defeating lvl 42+ characters when I was farming at lvl 38 (with lvl 32 skills), defeating lvl 50+ characters now at lvl 48...that kind of stuff is really rewarding for me, and I know I earned it.

Now, secondly, I get really pissed at people who make comments like:

Frozen wrote:

Now, Frozen, if you are not American, do whatever you want, but why do you care? However, if you are American...I find it ironic that this guy (botter or not) along with thousands of other American men and women have left their families, friends and lives behind to risk their lives so you can sit in an air conditioned room, type on a $1k computer as free person and talk sh1t about them. I don't care whether you agree with the war or not, the fact of the matter is, they daily risk their lives to keep this country free, it is not their decision what field of battle they fight on.

Don't take out your political frustration on the men and women of our Armed Forces. Heck, they are affected by Bush's decisions a heckuva lot more than you are. So say whatever you want about Bush...ironically, that is your freedom as an American, but leave them out of it. PLZKTHX.

Thank me later.

Oh and skimming through your crazy long post, I happened to notice the line stating that you are 25 have a wife and have a job... as if to prove you have somewhat of a "life" and that you aren't gay... even though I know you are on the down low. Nobody really cares about that kind of thing, so to even mention it makes you right off the bat as dumb as a sack of rocks. What motivated you to press "post a topic"? Seriously, what are you trying to prove?

oh and...

Wait, so are your kids the average 12 year old player and the whiny 14 year old kid? I highly doubt anyone with kids of their own would make statements like that to prove any type of point, expecially online.

I didn't read one word he wrote because I already know he's a moron. Why would you think that anyone would give a shit about what your pitful reasons are to bot. I may read this sad thread another time when I'm bored and have nothing else to do and need a laugh.

So a person who pays for a program to play a free game for them has more of a life than someone who takes the time to enjoy a game?(enjoy a game? BLASPHEMY)

Sadly, playing this game in my opinion IS a life. Everyone who posts on a SRO forum has no life... 100% gurenteed. I'm not trying to say I have a life... since I dont, I'm just saying you don't have one either.

Listen, I also want to have a life, thus I do not play SRO 24/7. My concerns are the same as urs. Thats y after playing over a year ( I started SRO when it was still in BETA), I still only have 2 chars @ lvl 30 and 33. If ur like me, and SRO isnt that big part of ur life, u shouldnt give a damn if u get to lvl 70 or not. I have a life (one with lots of sports, chicks and friends) and the only reason I do play SRO is because I really like the concept of this MMO over others. (The 3 races, job system, etc.) I however think JM skrewed up big time and we dont need **** LIKE U TO MOTHER F**KING TELL US Y U BOT IF U F***ING DONT EVEN LIKE THE GAME!!! I Have played Rose, didnt like the pvp in there, played RO, didnt liek its graphics, hero online, didnt like its simplisity and runescape (which truly means RUN ESCAPE!!!). SO as i can see ur point in balancing ur social life with sro, I THINK THAT IF U DO HAVE A SOCIAL LIFE U WOULDNT EVEN GIVE A RATS ASS about this game. TY AND GOOD DAY

If you have so much of a life that you do not have time to play THEN DONT PLAY AT ALL.

Why have a lvl70 when you don't DESERVE one? I have been (and perhaps still am) affiliated with the US military and it is my very firm belief that you should EARN your levels, just like you would EARN your ranks. I have come to know that is not the case IRL, but why carry this kind of corruption over to games?

Games are made for FUN, not for investment, botting, etc. You will never have the same satisfaction I do, because making a LEGIT lvl70 is not the same as making one by botting. Real pride/satisfaction is not something you will have. If you want insight into a bot hater's mind:

"I dont want to be one of those things....Walking around without a soul."

P.S. I buy silk too. I don't use 3rd party software (I'm pretty sure games are intended to be played WITHOUT 3rd party software alterations) and I don't rely on gold bots.

I gotta agree that the end-game isn't all that worth it. The game is just a mindless grind in the end. Sure if your legit, what do you have to show for it? Self-gratification? boy thats great. I hand-farmed 100k at lvl 16, and hand-grinded to lvl 67.

So what do i get for doing this?

An ultimately mediocre archer. I still get overshadowed by botters and ccfed sos characters. Sure its fun for a while (its great getting shocks when i pwn glaivers), but in the end i feel like all the time that i spent on the game doesn't even match up to the fun i get from playing.

5months 10days from character creation.
Hours spent farming = 101
Hours spent grinding= 120
MOney from silk: $110
fully-farmed and bored with sro.

SRO is truly one of the best money-making schemes out there. Whats the point in an mmo? to have fun and to be the best, how do you be the best? by being high-lvl. How do you be high lvl? with grinding. HOw do you make your grinding faster? by a ticket. How do you make your gear better? with astral.Alchemy is sro casino hall, its truly based on luck. What happens when you fail alchemy? You get pissed and unload your gold more on stones and elements, and you end up with a 0% phys on your weapon. Then you tell yourself, " I just spent 5 million to get a 0% phy balance on my weapon"

I applaud Joymax on their marketing schemes. And you realize why they don't ban botters or improve gameplay? Nope, add 983748237484 more servers. Servers are brand new, and there will always be those hardcore players who wants to jet to the top to be the strongest on the server first. To be the best you need tickets, and pets.. and it goes on and on.

Vicious cycle and anyone 60+ (legit) gets caught in the mold.

Bot companies capitalize on this cycle, and offer a prog to do all the work for you. Again, great ways to suck out all of your hard-earned cash. Hell even the botmakers have better customer service han SRO, updates on their progs after every patch.

The only positive thing about my sro experience is the friends i've made along the way. And the gratification (albeit a littttttle bit) i get from saying, damn I build this char from the ground up. (then get 1 shotted by a sos spear for 12k -_-).

Great experience that is SRO, the ultimate patience tester.

Lol I read the whole thing. He trys to sound smart but there's so many openings for flames in his statement. For starters, just because someone plays legit does not mean they're 12 or 14 and have no social life, alright?

Not everyone enjoys playing a game with a maxed-out charecter that they didn't build themselves. Good for you if you do, but no respect. All that your botting means is that you'll reach 70 before I do. I'll still reach it. And I guess that'll automatically mean I've got no life once that happens, right? If you only knew the life I live while playing SRO, bud.

Also, I find it highly unlikely you make what you say you make...what kind of grown man IN THE USMC would reveal how much money he has stacked up? Saying what you said is so incredibly immature that I simply can't believe you. I'm only 18 and I don't reveal that kinda stuff...because there's no reason to tell anybody else. You'd be the first grown man I've EVER spoken too who so callously reveals that kind of thing.

And don't try and take the blame of all of the lag off of bots. Most macro's create alot more lag on a server than someone's stall would. BTW, stalling is part of the game. Macro's are not.

Purified, wow. Stupid statement. 1st, I'd bet that plenty of botters have absolutely no life what-so-ever. Your average legit person doesn't have the knowledge to program a macro. Alot of people that do are nerds and possibly fat/pimply/pale.

Not every legit player plays 15 hours a day. I'm legit. I work 8 hours a day. Add on the 15 hours of SRO I play a day, and hey! I've got to be at work in an hour or two! Sweet ya no sleep, sleep is for nubz!

Gaming does plenty for a person. It increases hand-eye-coordination and it work out your brain. Most games anyway. And ya, 1/500,000(totally random number) people who'se MMO dies will actually kill themselves.

You're stupid. The topic starter doesn't seem too much brighter.

1. Many botters babysit their bots so they don't get banned. How is that any different than just playing the game?

2. You can play SRO and have a life. If you start choosing to play SRO instead of going out with friends when you have a chance, THEN you have no life. I'm in college and I both play SRO and have a life. I do schoolwork in between and just after class. I come home and put on the TV and play SRO for about 3 hours to relax, then I chill with friends at night. It's actually not that hard, just turn off your computer and do these "real life" things.

3. Many non-botters buy silk. I've spent nearly $1k dollars on silk since the item mall came out.

4. Botters lag the servers more than stallers because botters are actively moving around, killing monsters, etc. Stallers stay in one spot the whole time so there is less data to keep track of compared with botters (which mobs are killed, keeping track of the botter's character, etc)

Honestly, if you have to cheat at a game, what's the point in playing it? Doesn't everyone get bored of the "power overwhelming" cheat in Starcraft? If you have time you can spend on a game and want to play the game, then play it. If you don't have time to spend on a game and want to play it, then make time or don't play it.

I always wonderdr where the stereotype of the dumb Marine came from.....now i know.

I guess all that stuff about honor, pride integrity etc... was skipped at your boot camp eh?

Oh and lets not forget humility.

Its one thing to bot and be silent about it its a completly other thing to bot and then throw it in the face and insult all the legitimate players that play SRO.

But after reading this again i realise you are not 25 years old or married nor do you have 44k and you are most certainly not a marine .

I would wager you are a 16 year old kid who likes to play war in his backyard pretending to be a marine all the while with no concept of what a true marine is or stands for.

I didn't say it to appear like I don't care, I support the Troops not the war. You think I can feel good about walking around risk-free when I watch the news and see that a bunch of people not much older than me were killed today because of a roadside bomb. If I could I would be there for them. And i was saying "have fun in car bomb land" because it's not a war, They aren't able to defend themselves from somenthing they can't even tell is there.

Hope you survive in Iraq botking, But if you don't have time to level a character by yourself I don't see how you can have time to go to a war...
