Hi SRF... Let me start by saying I'm not trying to troll, insult the game.... Or actually even rant(I think).. But really it's just peoples opinions and inspiration, or just like minded people I'm hoping to find here. So I want to find a guild or community or whatever to play with so I can get 'into' the game a bit quicker

So...

First time playing.. Currently a level 19 2 handed warr/cleric... And straight to the point.... BOTTING. This was fine until I hit lvl19 and began to realize that no matter where I go there will be a bot there with me somewhere. (and that's not an exaggeration I swear)

At lower levels I just ignored and moved on as you do.... This is no problem right? I don't think it is.. Yet.
But now in later levels it's come to the point where I want to play with other people in order to make the game enjoyable to play and I just can't find anyone.

For example... I search the party searching thing and it's full of "lvl 1-110" with no description.

I join one of these and nobody there matches up to what I want to do, and when they finally do, I make my way over and it's g'damned bot.. (Yes apparently bots start party's up too)
So basically I think it must be down to both people that are too lazy to set a party with the correct limit/description and botters... Am I right or?

It's not just the botters, it's the players who just don't communicate or are just lazy

I'm on the Maya server, playing as a European as "Lionbane"... If anyone can help me out, please do, because lvl 10 up to where I am now has showed me that SRO CAN be, and probably is a great RPG.

Finally, I just want to know, even though I have a long way to go.. One person has told me that playing on your own is more profitable.. Well I'm not looking for profit, just a good game... But I have 2 players my level on my friends list (I guess I got lucky)
And it seems this guy was right, not only that but the difficulty jumps wayyyyy up... I can solo a quest quicker than with a friend. And I'm the lowest skilled and leveled in my group always... Doesn't seem balanced at all

Having said that.. Newb friendly guild anyone plox?

Bots have to be an acception, of course every where you go, there will be a bot in sight, not if you go off route, and into such places where bots can't run to.
as for the 1~110 partys, they are for private use, and no one bothers to put a title, and with no one putting a party to your preference, everyone now'adays is getting a power level, by some idiot, and the truth is, this game has never been the same since Power levels, and if you want people to train with you, get some friends to play, or get some guild mates, and as for your guild search, go offer it to your server dedicated topic, should get a reply in a week.

Hope i helped

EDIT: After reading other posts on this forum thought maybe I should be censoring his name(which is actually a ridiculous thing to do since you can't miss him when in Maya)XXXX

Alright thanks... Well, that reply helped, wassn't what i wanted to hear. But then again, I'm not sure what kind of reply I was expecting to get.

Guess it really just was a rant to be honest. It's just that I've spent enough time searching for tonight in-game and now you've told me to do even MORE searching on a internet forum.

OK, I'm a newb, I imagine ideas on how to stop botting has already been thought of... But anyway.. How about GM's bot them self's to remind LEGIT players how sad buying something from a botter is?

Where I get this idea from is there is a player on Maya called "XXXX"

XXXX: please visit http://www.lardy dar blah blah

GM: To stop spam type please type "/ban XXXX"

XXXX: please visit http://www.lardy dar blah blah

GM: To stop spam type please type "/ban XXXX"

XXXX: please visit http://www.lardy dar blah blah

GM: To stop spam type please type "/ban XXXX"

etc. etc. etc. OR just plain GM: "purchasing from a 3rd party makes you a g.ay boy" message when you log on in big bold letters.

...........I know that's really only the spamming... But that's where it starts right? if no one purchased c.rap with real money from a 3rd party site then that would would stop botting.... well almost?

I'm all out of ideas, but thought I might be onto something with botting the botters

I have found, that gold bots, the ones with the stupid names eg: aiowda, will not bother anyone, they train on lower level things, and some rarely use MP, and I don't think Joymax bothers to ban them because either
1. There is too many, and they multiply like rabbits.
Or
2. They are not going to be used as real accounts, they are just used to help other players, and earn profit, so joymax don't bother with it.
With your idea's, they would work, but hey, Its joymax, they got around 2 other games to run, thats around 2000+ complaints per day, add 2 0's per month, They Do their best, that is all i ask, they USUALLY have a smooth gaming system, although around 70% of people abuse it.

also, if Gm's botted, They would be abusing their own game, Which would thus make them look like complete douche bags, and then everyone would think it is okay to bot, thus wrecking the game.

^ My opinion

Once again, i hope it helped.

If you're looking for a bunch of legits to play with, Maya isn't the server to do so. We're all on Azteca.

I can confirm this, I played on Iris, now Azteca and guild and union are almost full with people playing. TONS of players of various levels. Might be worth a look.
