CTF is so dumb. I don't know how the level of the monsters are determined, but I get put in a party that's low 30s, and I keep getting the lv60 penguins. WTF. SEriously.

What makes it worse is that people are either really dumb or don't speak english.

I don't quite agree. Sure, it can be annoying some times, but CTF is the best and fastest way to lvl in the entire game. Of course power lvl is faster but you seriously get a lot of xp from one ctf round.

What I do is this:
-If I'm in a party, I'll stay at the spot. Even if CTF starts.
-If I'm grinding solo, I'll teleport to town, kill the CTF mobs and then return to town and grinding spot!

It's really effective

since jomax removed the saferoom (which was used as rsro stil had ctf),
noone has bothered to join it anymore.
Even less with the monster bug, so it isn't worth it at least half the time because of that.

and even slightly less due to the multiple CTF bug(s) - the one mentioned above I've seen twice myself, and then the other one with two chars on the same account - one higher, one lower - register with lower, log off acct, log on same account, go to ctf with higher level char, pisses people off.

When you spawn in ctf, there is a zig-zag tunnel ending at a closed red door.
Beyond that door is a remnant saferoom from the summer event of 2008 which can still be seen on the map (you could leave it once but not re-enter).
Upon death, players respawned in there being able to buff and team up to launch a counter attack.


But in joymax's nonchalant stupor, the spawn point was reset to the spawn kill mode we all know.

edit: i've been told however that it was reinstated some time ago, i'll investigate

No. The room is still there, but you are still spawned near the flag. It's like they are taunting us with the safe room.

Players : give us a safe place in ctf!
Joymax : ok! Y gyve you safe room!
Players : but... we can't use it...
Joymax : No probrem Y go afk now ok?

yeah, and unless you're in CTF with three or four smart people that know when to WAIT to respawn, you're out of luck.

So how does the monster level work? Say there's one level 55 and everyone else is level 30. Then EVERYONE in the CTF round gets the lv60 penguins? **** you Joymax

Say I have a level 30 char and register for CTF. I logoff, back on the same account with my 110, and go to CTF. The mobs are the level of the others in the party, not mine. All that CTF bug does is make you unkillable and piss off the rest of the people as they get lower xp from the party.

I don't think it's even averaged out. There's another bug that gives you higher level mobs accidentally, I think.

I've had that happen, lol.

I've also had instances where they put 64-20 into one big group and threw them into genies. Other times they just don't let you go because not enough people signed up. It's crazy

I remember when I did it on my 85 full sun blader and Goseki was on the other team (we are friends), so he didn't attack me, but it was fun to have the rest of his team being unable to kill me.

He told them it was pointless as I had full sun gear ect, and then we (as in, both teams) stood around for the rest of the match chatting.

Only CTF I ever did, and it was great.

Ah, memories.

You know this makes me think that JM is actually trying to increase its stupidity experience points as the years go by...

About the penguin(lvl 45) bug,if you have a team full of lvl 30's (smart ppl) with 1 warrior and 1 dedicated cleric(and no1 kding the mob its quite easy to take em down 1 by 1, while not a fast approach it certainly gives a lot of exp.

Just get every1 in the tunnel behind the flag, then let a bow/xbow/warrior lure in 1 monster at a time, warrior tanks, cleric heals warrior and every1 else attacks.

Good luck getting people to do it since most ppl in sro go:

Euros:
wiz: turns on LC says, "I AM WIZZING WATCH MY DAMAGE"
rogue: turns on extreme and says, "SEE MY CRIT"
WARRIOR: turns on vital and says, "I AM NOW UNKILLABLE"

Chinese:
takes 2 minute to get on buffs then attacks.

As all of these ppl die they promptly say "F*ck gaymax", "F*ck mather", etc then leave.

Well, its what I see when it happens to me, I just go die once for the hell of it, then w8 to see ppl keep doing this, then scroll out of there
