Do you think Silkroad could possibly be the best MMORPG ever made so far? (beside of the graphics)

(bot includes: the bot itself, random botters, gold companies, crowded servers)

For me, maybe.
The only part i hate and they should fix is the grind fest and the sp farm

SRO would be the best MMORPG if it had:
• 10x EXP/SP rates
• Absolutely no or little farming
• a company which would give a shit about its customers

Not really, it would be decent but not best. Just go to like ksro they don't got many bots (I think). They need to lower xp/sp requirements and make triangular conflict more worth it (like raise price by 10x)

What it needs: no bots(especially gold bots), and SP increased to something like x8

the sp and lvling is insane

if they got rid of bots then it would already be 100x better... because you can actually log on!


or the other way around, most people bot cuz of the slow lvling... make it faster and there wont be a need to bot

the game is completely ruined
highest level for horses and fire bull level 60 just to force you to buy silk shit
the main aim of the game , trading ... is abandoned
the alchemy system is getting worse
joymax is intending to make new armor sets normal or even less than normal so you buy silk suits
leveling to 110 is sooo so hard
powerlevel system is killing the game at lower levels

when they fix all of this and more things i don't remember .. then it will be the best game ever

I actually think it would be quite good as it is, if there were no bots and no powerlevel. They should introduce something like, if the difference between highest and lowest pt member is higher than 20 or maybe 25 lv., nobody in the pt should get any exp anymore. Then there won't be any plevel. Or maybe, if someone in pt is more than 10 Lv. higher than monster level, nobody will get exp. I think then there would be a lot more pt-leveling, even in lower levels. And then some people will realize that it's not that hard to level or farm in share pts.^^

we have our corrupted, scum overrun(both ingame and in company) silkroad
full of afk players, goldbots/buyers/scammers

how do we make it a perfect game without the need for bots?
which ingredients will we need?

• add content
• add interactive options
• add fun (and most of all REWARDING)quests
• add a change to the concept of mindless hours of grinding to get further
• add customer service and ingame checks
• add a company in charge of the game and not just in charge of advertising for it
• add an subtle trading system that is fun for every player to live up to the games name

you can put aside the need of sp and 1/2 of the needed exp
this fits into the previous joymax recipe to render players afk zombies
bots will fall away for this after making their purpose obsolete^^

bake this at a mellow mood and with care for about 1 year in an interwebs

Didn't ECSRO have increased exp rates, maybe 5x or 10x or something? I'm pretty sure people still botted on there. There probably weren't nearly as many players though, so not as much need for gold bots from the gold companies.

Increased exp rates won't help as much as you'd think...

OT: I think without the bots and server traffic, SRO could be a great game.

New ZSZC pserver has 30x rates and people still bot. A lot.

any1 played tsro will know how the "best game ever" will be like.
tsro was the best sro version i ever played.

Yea the first one and a half month was great but after that noobs started coming in and a bot was made I couldn't stand to see it after that. It turned into mainly bots (played played legit every now and then) and player golbots were made.

No bots=low sp/exp requirements.
They just can't/don't want to do sh!t and they did it the easier way- rise the requirements so bots wouldn't level faster.
But as always it isn't as expected.

OMG one month to get to lvl 110 FF?! SOOO LONG!

It took me about 2 years around 2006/2007 to get my blader to 54. I'm not complaining either.

kSRO doesn't have that many bot players, but it still has plenty of gold bots.

But regarding what somebody above mentioned about rates.. if the rates were that high, they wouldn't be able to sell those EXP tickets. If they got rid of SP altogether and just had you buy skills with gold (like a lot of other games do), they wouldn't need the SP tickets/potions as well.

The point of those above posts is that no matter how high the exp rates are, people will still be lazy. People will still bot. They will still buy exp cards. They will do all of this because even 200x exp rates are not fast enough for them. If every single player is getting 200x exp rates, the lazy people will not be happy to level as 'slowly' as everyone else and instead of working harder to level faster, they'll bot or buy even more exp points.

You shouldn't be able to buy skill points with gold. I think that's a horrible idea. In any game. They're called skill points for a reason. You should have to work for them, not just 'acquire' *coughbuycough* gold to get your skills.

I feel you mate. I played there for around 2-3 days and it was the most fun I have ever had on SRO.

No, because of several reasons;

-WoW would still be better, same as every other p2p game.
-Every new f2p game beats SRO even with bots. i.e; Runes of magic.
-People dislike how you can't jump
-People dislike how u cannot use wasd
-People dislike the long grind
-People dislike the low amount of quests
-People dislike the lack of lore

In all honestly Silkroad is a terrible game now. I only liked it and still have a liking for it now is because I like to grind on monsters for hours, but even then WoW > Sro.

Actually Silkroad isnt that good MMO, the only thing i really like was the party system and maybe the flashy skills. Whats over is just a mega grindfest/farming. Besides quests in SRO are horrible, kill 1000 x monsters get 1000 y items and u dont even get that much xp of it.

Isn't that quest system in every MMORPG?

If Joymax had played their cards right at 80cap yes the game could have been very successful. By that I mean instead of adding new caps beyond 80 they should have created instances(Like they did for 100[Medusa] or 110 cap with the cave thing). Added different gear that wasn't just the same shit and so on. Years on they could have added another 5 levels and added a few new pieces of gear and repeat the process. Could have been successful, but problem with that.. their main source of income is premiums at the moment. Without full servers this idea is just terrible.

Of course again they could have though of numerous ways to make money other than just premiums itself, but well.. they didn't.

Things I like about SRO:

-Party system
-Animations are decent, sounds are good, music is good
-jobbing is fun, if no high-level thieves ruin the trade

Things I dislike intensely:
-sp and xp requirements
-high prices due to inflation
-game isn't the same when people are fully farmed and you have to be fully farmed just to compete
