I have seen a few answers to this problem, but none that seem to fix my problem, or that really explain how I can fix it. Basically, my wife and I can't connect to SRO at the same time. Any time a 2nd client (LAN) tries to log in I get the c10 error.
We never had this problem before and we just bought 2 premiums which are pretty much garbage if we can't log in together. I emailed joymax support so I'm sure they'll jump to fix it.....yeah, I know probably not. This is why I'm posting here.
My router is supplied by my DSL provider which is a small company. I was wondering what settings need to be changed. I believe from other posts its a NAT problem. Anyone else had this issue?

And no, I'm not botting/multiclienting/bla bla bla

Although until todays patch I did use loader and srproxy to circumvent the problem and get use out of my premiums...but I really dont want to get banned over a bug...so...help?

Thats sad you have to use loader just to be able to play. It does sound like a NAT problem because both clients are trying to use the same port to connect to SRO. as NAT should randomize it. Only way i could help is knowing what type of Modem your provider has given you. 2wire, motorola, linksys etc.... With model no.

Ahh. Typical situation :)

Before you continue, read and answer the following, do you have a hub/switch in place? Or are both PC's seperately, but directly, connected to the router? Both cases are a relatively easy fix, as long as you know what you're doing.

Your (small) ISP configures all their routers using NAT because the world is running short on IP adresses. NAT simply means - your network gets 1 IP. NAT allows a network to communicate to the outside via your router, with only 1 IP. This happens especially with small providers as they are basically ordered to let their DHCP servers grant a smaller amount of IPs to their customers, whereas big providers don't have this problem very often. It gets more complicated though when one talks about NAT more deeply and goes into the subject of ports, but that's not really needed.

So in some cases, like here, it can be annoying with a game where you can't connect together, because their servers see both of your computers as 1. Instead of giving your network of 2 PC's multiple IP's; the router is configured to open ports.

if possible ;
Super easy fix: call your ISP and ask them if it's allowed to adjust NAT. If yes then they will walk you through it - explain the situation. I HIGHLY doubt they won't allow you as you will have this problem with a lot of games and a lot of other things too.

Easy fix : Configure NAT yourself. For this all you need to tell me is the make of your modem-router and I could post it for you using a manual I will find on google.

If you can't decide;I would personally just do it.

Thanks for the replies. My Router is a Zhone. Model # 6218-I2-200-0NS. If you could walk me through it I believe that would be the better scenario as I might actually learn something. I was going to try to guess and fiddle with the router settings as I'm not a complete noob...but at this point, I haven't even been able to log into the router.(see below) I've tried the default username/password combinations given in the manual online, with no luck. I tried to reset using the usual method, unplug, hit reset button for ten seconds...but it didnt work my network still has the SSID I gave it.Also, both computers are connected wirelessly through the router. Connecting the 2nd computer directly via ethernet solves the problem, but we don't exactly have comfortable seating for two in the "office".

Strangely enough, as 3 hours of work has proved...setting up spoonproxy on a hard-wired computer and the a socks program to tunnel the wireless connection through the hard-wired connection does not work and still gives me the c10 error. I know it works as the client hangs and loses the connection to the server if i unplug the other computer's ethernet cable. I guess I don't understand the issue like I thought I did.

I am leaving for work now so I will not be able to try anything until around 5 PM EST.
Thank you for your help.

BTW, im aware this sounds like a contradiction "...as I'm not a complete noob...but at this point, I haven't even been able to log into the router." :D

Fact: If you can't log in to the router with the default username/password, then you have NOT reset it correctly :P There is no way that your ISP put the actual router with factory settings on a non-standard login. The SSID could stay the same though after factory reset, unlike the login info. Is there not an online application btw for you to log in to your customer information on the web? Some ISPs have the router setting available in these kind of pages for you to access easily, and also the employees of the tech center if you call. this would also be where the SSID is saved :)

The setup you tried is silly, not needed.

The way you typed it, it looks like you unplugged it, and THEN push reset?
Hope you didn't :P Hold reset for 20 seconds, release it, THEN take off the power and leave it off for 10 seconds for the info to go off your ISPs network. Replug and use the default gateway with default username/pass. tip; do this with a ethernet cable directly on the router. Use a fixed IP on your local area connection(to be found in the manual, usually number between 1 and 50 after the default gateway range (192.168.x.1-50)). Some routers will use the IP that was given to you if you make changes to your router by wireless connection, so it wouldn't be able to save.

@ownedpl0x
I guess its something I just assumed would work. As I said, we've never had an issue before...I assumed it would just work...never a good assumption.

@Twysta
I realized I hadn't actually reset the router and I quit trying since I didnt really know what I was going to do in there anyway...I will try it again once I get home. Whether or not I could reset/login to the router was never really an issue. I didn't really try too hard considering I didn't really know what settings to change anyway. I guess I really shouldn't have mentioned it in the first place. I'm sure I will be able to login to it this evening. I just need to know what settings need changing. I guess my 2nd post sent this thread in the wrong direction. I apologize for that.

EDIT:UPDATE
Okay, so I still can't log into the router. After doing some googling I found this.
http://www.fixya.com/support/t3935796-any_other_way_reset_default
apparently I'm not the only one. My guess is that my ISP changed the default settings?
I phoned tech support and I'm pretty certain the guy googled my problem because he asked me how to spell silkroad, typed alot, and then put me on hold for 3 minutes. He then came back and told me someone would have to call me back. Before I hung up I asked him why I couldn't log in and if the password might be different, and he said he didn't know...an internet tech support guy who doesnt know the modem/router password...wow. Well, the internet is really cheap. I guess you get what you pay for.

FURTHER EDIT:
http://www.fixya.com/support/t3058770-got_internet_installed_today_isp - This is my ISP and my exact situation

AND AGAIN:
This was posted as a "solution" on fixya
"the password is admin backwards. nimda"

I thought it was a joke... an hour later I tried it. It worked! I'm in...now what to change?

What? Really? You can't figure out client on two machines?

Port Forwarding, or create a DMZ. I stopped reading when you said you couldn't access you're router because a part of me died.

Or, you know, Rev6 has people who can direct you to tools. Not necessarily bad tools. But ones this community is overly anal about.

Yeh, I thought the whole router thing was crazy at first too. However, if you'll look at my post you'll see that my ISP had somehow changed what the router defaults to in an effort to lock its customers out...regardless I'm in now, I just need to know what settings to change. The "tools" did work before the last patch...no botting...just the redirect ip, srproxy part....but now theres not a new "tool" out for the latest client with hackshield. I also would rather not to have to resort to using those "tools" if possible.

I tried portforwarding, and dmz....neither of which worked, plus I don't believe that's the issue...port triggering is the next thing I'm going to play around with....where did Trysta go? He seemed to have a fix for this...I had high hopes :cry:

Okay, so I think this is SOLVED. I never figured out the NAT issue but I did find a workaround. After figuring out that it was probably hackshield that was causing me to disconnect when i connected through a proxy, i tried moving the folder momentarily and connecting. It worked, I was able to connect through a proxy server. I realized hackshield was just shutting down proxifier, so I found another less known program to redirect the ip and found proxycap. It is a trial that I guess I will have to buy after 30 days, but hackshield does not crash it. (Yes, I did move the folder back into my SRO installation and the silkroad guard box does come up so hackshield is running). So in short.

1. HTTP-Tunnel Client - finds a free proxy server and connects me. Starts a local Socks5 proxy server on my computer , port 1080. (127.0.0.1:1080)

2. Proxy Cap -> preferences -> Add Server -> 127.0.0.1:1080

3. Proxy Cap -> preferences -> Add rule -> sro_client.exe forward through 127.0.0.1:1080 and

voila! we can both play. I hope this helps someone else if ANYONE else has ever had this much trouble. I also hope hackshield/joymax doesnt find this post and crash proxycap :D

Try port forwarding and use a different port for one conn.
