its written in C#.
C# is just simply slower than C/C++. And with a program handling 1000+ slots every bit speed counts

Even sremu could do that. The nice look is added into the pk2 files. alll you have to do is to sniff the packets sending the skill number. this is 0.1% of the whole work. Yes.. we also saw walking penons. Random rnd = new Random() for (int x = 1 ; x<=penonnumber ; x++) { penonarray[x].newxcoordinate = rnd.Next(0,15); penonarray[x].newycoordinate = rnd.Next(0,15); SendWalkPacket(penonarray[x].type, x , penonspeed,penonarray[x].oldxcoordinate,penonarray[x].oldycoordinate,penonarray[x].newxcoordinate,penonarray[x].newycoordinate); } its something like this. I also started writing the SendWalkPacket procedure , but for that I would need the exact sniffed packet, to see how it is built up. so overall... what we saw on the video of lyzerk is nothing. What esro showed is a LOT more . You just don't how how much exceptions can be thrown for a sipmle thing like ... jointoguild() edit : Oh.. sorry nukesilo to spam your topic. I'm done now.

Lol and if u have a video that doesn't mean ur progress is further >.< And becuz he's doing some skills in the video u think it's great? SREmu was even that far lol

C# is a much less complicated programming language. Actually.. I would recommend it as a start to anyone who want to start learning programming. C and C++ are much more complicated. Especially the memory handling. (pointers , yuck ) In C# a lot of things are premade for you, but this slows down the whole, because the premade things are ready for every case, even if you would need a few. Let me tell you an example. You want to add a RollDice() procedure for the basics of C#. Everyone knows that the dice will roll from 1 to 6. But maybe someone want a dice with max 5/4/3/2/1 point types on it too. Because you have to be ready for every cause , then you make a procedure which asks for the amount of points, then with a switch(){case 1;case2 ;case3...} you make the random number given by a rnd.Next(1,maxpoints+1); . Now your procedure is ready for everything maybe, and you add it to the C#. Even though 99% of the people will use the six point dice only. The rest is a waste and slowing the entire process in 99% cases. That's why C# is slower, while C/C++ are not. Things are just not simplifed for you.

If you believe you have some skill in anything mentioned above, try to contact him. If he cooperate with Drew_Benton, they'll make the best emulator ever exist. Drew_Benton left his trace as pushedx (scientist), whenever you are in a programming forum or game forum, 99.99% pushedx refers to Drew

The progress on my blog is kinda outdated and the video even more. Now we got 3 more coders and we hope to finish this soon. Still making a sro emulator is pretty hard task for any1 to do it alone. About the THC question, wow he must be really good ^ ^...and i wanted to ask him about the damage formula but i guess he wont give it to me if he start working on server =,(.

He said that he wants it to be coded in asm so that it could hold more ppl and for fast computing. ESRO is coded in C#, a heavy language.

NS, you said THC aka D2A = Death2All? that name sounds familar. What are his accomplishments/portfolio in the game/outside the game?

Ask on IGL, they have a couple of programmers working on that.
