Well, I know what most blues do, but I don't know what steady does. What is it for?

I believe Steady makes it so the item won't get a red stat upon failure when trying to + it.

So it doesn't do anything from +1 to +5?

I thought it was so your item didn't go back to +0 when failing. Isn't there any way to do that?

Only thing that can do such a thing is Astral. But it only works for +4 or higher (so if you fail +5/6/7/8 and so on it will go back to +4 (yes even if you try like +6->+7)

Immortal makes sure your item can't be destroyed trying for +6 or higher.

Lucky just increases the luck chance and it'll take away one lucky each time you fuse your item.

/Edit: To put astral on an item you will need the same amount, or more, of immortal on that item.

and you must have immortal on your item to add astral

its very rare i believe but your gear has a possibilty of getting red dura reduce going from +4-+5 and so on... I had a chest +4 and i went +5 and it failed and got dura reduce on it. Sorry if this was posted before just clearing that up

Wrong.

There are a thousand topics on this subject, and in every topic there's someone that claims that you can get dura reduce from +4 to +5, you're simply wrong. It does not happen. What could have happened is that you miscounted and you were actually going for +6, that mistake is easily made.

If you would do a forum search on it and read all the topics, you'd find that all the people that claim to have had dura reduce from +4 to +5 "thought" it had happened, not a single person has posted a screenshot of it. And with all the alchemying going on someone must have been able to capture it by now

hmm my eyesight is fine...and im 100% positive it was +4... trust me if it was +5 i would have left it..no they chest wasnt +5 because i started from +0 and was constantly looking at it.. my goal was to +5 it ..not to +6 it and yes it is very rare but it can happen

thats why 1000's of people do not use steady when trying +5, when it fails no red dura.
ur wrong im right and so is VanTokkern.

I failed +1 with lucky powder, I didn't believe it either but now it happened to me it's possible. So yeah I think it's possible but just a really really really really small chance.

You have to add it to your gear that you are supposed to pimp.
It will make your hand steady so you can press the Fuse button.

+4 to 5 won't give you a red stat. +1 won't fail with lucky powder.

You are mistaken, it was +5, you tried +6. You forgot to put lucky powder and thought you did.

Steady, +6 and beyond, prevents red stat.
Immortal, +6 and beyond, prevents weapon from being destroyed.
Astral, +5 and beyond, keeps weapon from falling below +4.
Astral requires immortal.

/End

Yeah that's why I failed before making it +0 and that's why I failed going for +1 and ending up with the same amount of elixers and powders ;) I didn't forget the powder.

ever thought of.. maybe, just maybe.. like just a little bit like like like like u know how small, so small that you did not even notice it... that you did not use lucky powder on the item? like my friend over here, "xKingpinx" went for +6 without knowing his item was already +5. Dont you just think that could of happened? :)

fixed ^^... i believe ppl is not that blind/stupid to dont realize if they put a lucky powder or to not realize the item was +5 WHEN HE WAS AIMING TO MAKE IT +5 only...

just think about it... you CANT know everything about everything in life...

I know of a few people who have made +6 by accident, and someone who has destroyed a weapon by accident. I've even failed +1, and asked myself "wth?", only to realize I didn't put the lucky powder like I thought. (Done that twice actually.)

It's not arrogance, it's experience. :banghead:

Guildy made a +8 pro foot on accident also, don't ask me how he managed that..I think his brain told him it went poof when it was actually 5, so he kept going to what he thought was 3..was actually 8.

i know lots of ppl that mistake thier item being at +4 while its really +5.
e.g at the start of 90cap my guildie got sun prot boots and he wanted to get them +5.. with out knowing it was already +5 and went for 6.. poof, gone. about 5hours after he got it he lost it.

i know i dont know every thing about the game. BUT its just simple SRO knowledge. like omgad nowai how can you not know.. u need a SRO book for dummbies?

mmm... i guess ppl pimp their items and they dont ever look at them when they fail or success, c'mon i dont buy it =P when u see the shining or the cloud u ever, EVER, EVEEEER, look at it to see if it changed somethg , or assimilation or w/e... that guy went to +8 and didnt even look 3 times? not even the right box on the screen that says it has succeded and it is[+6],[+7],[+8]?...

lol w/e... the topic was about steady and what it does... lets keep OT...

[ Edit: stupid gramma issues T_T]

Like I said, I don't know how he managed it, but he did. And if he, for whatever reason, thought he was going for +3 I can understand. When doing stuff that low I don't generally look at the item. If I know its 0 then I go 1,2,3 real quick. I just watch the flash. He probably did the same, who knows.
