Ok this is how i think it should work...

*) REMEBER THIS DONT WORK INSIDE THE TOWNS!
*) And one you have completed the image code, you cant get flagged for 30 minutes.
*) Only works if the player is in combat (? to avoid kicking plvl dudes)
*) (thanks to NuclearSilo) ONLY work if the person to be flagged is in combat mode but in condition they don't wear cape and job suit.
*) after some1 get flagged and successfuly fill the captcha, it cant be flagged for 30 minutes or so.

1) You see a player that you think is using a bot program.
You select him and click on a FLAG USER option
(like the exchange thing) this is what that player will see:

2) if he/she dont reply in 20 seconds...

3) if he reply... nothing happens.

4) this is what the player that has started the FLAG system will see when he decided to flag a player:
It cost 50k (something to avoid bad uses... t could be 100k idk)

5) While the user responds, you cant move. So you stay in the same situation like the other:

6) The window we HATE but now in OUR FAVOR 8)

7) This is what happens if the user responds. Remember that you have lost gold:
You cant flag another in 1 hour...

Can't bots autorelog and the captchas? as many ideas as u suggest only JM can make it happen, simple ingame GMs would solve most problems in sro

thats very very nice idea but, whats with those players who are just staying at hotan and are afk and have no chances to write the imagecode ?? And there will be massiv turks who just flag you for fun....

what if the player is afk and u flag them for fun? then the person gets DCed.. sucks.. >.<

e.g. the player is getting plvled.. and u flag them.. they dont reply and get DCed..

now if you had said.. you can only flag players that are moving then why not, unless they are tracing another player

I'm stepped out of town. Now maybe if you said he is in 'combat' then I suppose would be something else.

However the whole idea of yours is still fail.. Why? It'll only work for a couple weeks until the bot programmers find a way to answer back.

Perfect example.. The protectors. Anyone remember these? Cheap and usable every hour. Used to kill only noobs after a month of them out.

A bot that read the image verification and complete it? if some1 do that program it whould be rich! lol

But if the goldbots start to get disconnected... SOME people (i'm not saying you) will start to have less gold...

it is a stupid idea as the bots can by-pass the captchas. This will only be used to annoy real players creating a lot of problems for us and giving the power to bots so they can annoy, distract or deconnect us. Totally useless

Bots won't be able to avoid it if its Trigger Server side Becuase bots Can't Bypass that
the only reason why the bots get throug the confirmation code right now is cuz its Client sided and not server sided so they can bypas it throug the client

Im not sure about this, but if this is true, you can remove the captcha yourself and enjoy old school silkroad loging in system without verification code...

what about, a keyboard pop ups and you have to do it with your mouse, ofcourse, you'll say, hey ima make a macro according to the captcha, but, what if everytime you click a letter or a number, the keyboard keys changes places randomly every time
and say increase the time from 20 secs to like 40, for some slow people...
50k, too much, goldbots would just reconnect, because if all real players would start dcing goldbots, server would go populated and they could reconnect back instantly
this idea has alot of problems like this...

Some things only happen in your computer.
Some other things happen bicause it happened in the server.

When you move you char in silkroad. You send a message to the server saying "i want to move that way" The server awnser ok, and it comunicates with your computer updating your char position in your computer.

I mean when u move u dont say the server where you are.
When you move, you say the server WHERE and the server move you and tell YOU where you are.

well i think that if this was implemented there wouldnt be any server traffic...so that person wouldnt have a tough time getting back in*

plvling...is an abuse of the game...so not an issue

Well... if you are interested in pogramming i trow you a keyword "design patterns" "MVC"
Now...


A) lets say you have a programm that once you put id and pass you programm call an internal function that generate a captcha and shows it on screen. This is option 1: what some people say is the current behaviour of the silkroad launcher.

B) lets same that you have a program that you enter id and pass and then instead of calling a function of his own, it calls a function from the server (in simple words): this is, using your internet cinnection send a request for a captcha to the server. The server responds, and the programs continues the same way it does in A)


as you can see you can have some parts of the program (the game) doing stuff on your computer, and aother parts in the server.

you can't explain shit.
let me explain you how do things work.

a) client sided captcha: once you entered your id and pass the client generates a captcha that is displayed if the captcha is good then the id and pass are send to the server. It is possible that this is the way sro works. Easy check is to ask someone if a loader removes the captcha.

b) server sided is more complicated, no need to explain, all I have to say is that server sided is the only way that really works.

I will trow a keyword at you too: "stupid idea", check it out on google.

lets say bots can read captchas... witch i dont think so. ust change the position of the window randomly everytime it appears and make it have diferent colors. Problem solve.

P.S: and with that it whoul take a program more than 20 seconds to find the window and read the captcha f the colors are realy random. The human brain is a beast reading image codes and visual patterns.
