To the shaolin guy who said that it is not professional for an employee of a company to post something like that...

Why not?O.o Sometimes you just need to reach out to your users to make them understand. Anyway, MorningDew is a GM and people are like always calling out to GMs to respond to their cries. GMs are like the voice of Joymax, our connection to the people who run the company, so it's natural for them to post & communicate to the people. If you're talking about the emotion an employee is showing, I'd say that's not in any way wrong or unprofessional. Sometimes we just really need to express ourselves before we lose our minds due to a mountain of problems and pressure. All they're asking for is "pls bear with us at the moment".

And i didn't say we don't need to complain about anything, I even made that clear on my first post that there's really something to complain about, in fact, there are many things >.< MorningDew is just posting that to assure the users or give an explanation of why it's not that easy. I think that's not very difficult to understand if you're a sensitive person. Or atleast you realize how tough that kind of work could be.

Let's just be contented that we're atleast seeing some improvements now. That only shows they're indeed doing something. At least. . .

in my personal opinion then it's not professional, he was basicly pouring his heart out in that post, and i feel bad if what he says is true.

but i also said many other people face similar pressure's from day to day, i couldn't walk into work crying and begging customers to give me a break i'm doing the best i can...could i?..nope.. they'd just turn around and say your paid to provide this service and to be put under this pressure...

and i do feel bad about what he said(if it's true), but i said it's the company failing them and us...at the end of the day joymax is cause of this.
(i'm refering to there gm's breaking down mentally and by the sounds of it psychically too)

Quote:
The head of iSRO sometimes doesnt go home for weeks at a time. Hes been dumped by multiple girls in the past for not being able to spend any time with them as he is stuck at work.

and this is line which really makes it un-professional, i mean come on to post that it's almost unbelievable, regardless if it's true or not..

Have not looked at this thread for a while, but how dare you tell me to suck your cock. Oh and you ask for my age? Obviously I'm older than you, as you type like a 5 year old. You, kitty and others who have blasted me and chaby, possible others may NEVER complain about anything according to what you guys said. If it be lag, silk or disconnection's you can't complain cause that would be contradicting yourselves .. nice.

@Kitty, hell no I won't go find a new game cause I currently don't like the way the game is run at the moment. I have invested a lot of time and money into this game and will not just simply walk away. Pretty dumb solution if you ask me.

Anyways as I said, looking forward to the next cock up by JoyMax, and then reading your replies contradicting yourselves :)

I've whined before. I've been wrong. I am sorry.

Who the fck on earth are you to tell me to quit? Go fck yourself, you find another game to bot in. The problem is you probably wont, because only SRO has retarded bot policy, or should I say they dont have it.

Joymax's bot policy is about as good as George Bush's foreign policy.

I also agree with shaolin00, that post is pretty unprofessional, crying for sympathy because joymax can't do their job right. Rofl, seriously, how many people do you see doing their jobs crying to their customers. We buy a sh1t load of silk, and joymax provides crappy service.

Okay, Im going to go off on a personal tangent here, everything I post below is strictly a personal opinion and does not reflect Joymaxs company policy or the game or anything related to Silkroad. Its just a personal opinion.

*** Personal opinion follows ***

For the last month and a half, Ive been working crazy hours - sometimes more than 12 hours per day. Ive worked New Years Eve, New Years Day, and all weekends in January until now. We have multiple servers running, which means that we have to monitor multiple servers, switch servers hourly, scan the forums, post replies, and on top of that, I have to juggle administrative duties, generate reports for Korea, work with Korea to come up with policies, submit recommendations, conduct market research, follow up with Koreas actions by double checking our reports against their feedbacks, and on top of that, I have to handle my original duties here in the US, business development and marketing. And there are only 24 hours in a day.

Sometimes Im up until 4 or 5 in the morning doing my work, Ive moved back to San Jose after 4 and a half years, and in the last month and a half, Ive managed to have one dinner with a high school friend. And thats it. Im so exhausted that most of my dinners consist of microwaved TV dinners. My laundry is piled sky high. I can barely manage to vaccum and clean my house. My apartment has become a place for me to work, then sleep for a few hours before I have to go back to the office.

The janitor who cleans the office knows me too well, as Im always here when hes cleaning. Sometimes I dont leave the office until well after midnight, then I go home and power up my laptop for more work. My doctor has recommended that I take some time off for rest before I collapse. Ive developed health and digestive problems from the stress and workload.

And Im not alone. The very very few GMs that we have in Korea also carry this burden. The head of iSRO sometimes doesnt go home for weeks at a time. Hes been dumped by multiple girls in the past for not being able to spend any time with them as he is stuck at work.

We are passionate about the game, passionate about the company, and yes, we do care about the players. Enough for us to sacrifice countless nights of sleep, put in insane working hours, and come back day after day to do the same thing all over again. Even after I collapse from exhaustion and am forced to stay in bed for two days, the first thing I do when I recover is come back to the office to put in more hours again.

And still you complain. Still you call me names, and accuse us of being in league with botters. It really really hurts us. Were not turning a blind eye or deaf ear to our users, were really not. But our workload at the moment is absolutely tremendous.

Why not hire more, you ask? We have been trying. Tightened security regulations means that we cant hire anyone to work from home, we need them in the office. Korea conducts multiple interviews every day which also takes away from time at our desks and yet it is really hard to find qualified people for the position. I am trying to push for some of the work to be transferred here, but am faced with the challenge of meeting the stringent network security demands placed on me. And I cant even follow up on that at the moment, as most of my time is devoted to the forums, community, game monitoring, and overseeing the running of the office.

Like today, for example. Im supposed to be devoting my time to researching alternative bulletin board solutions, coming up with ways to prevent CCF, drafting a recommendation to fortify security on the forums and in the game, conducting market research for alternative payment options, creating a temporary FAQ for the temporary forum, generating reports for Korea, having my weekly meeting with Korea, cross checking their progress against our daily reports, and addressing emails sent to me. These things are going to have to wait, because I have to make postings on the forum. That also means I will not go home until very very late today. I dont mind working the extra hours, because I am very passionate about the community. What kills me is that people keep accusing me of not caring. If I didnt care, why wouldnt I just walk away? Pretend that the forums didnt exist? Instead of answering them?

Im not asking you guys to be grateful for our services, I just think that my overworked team deserves some sort of recognition for the work they do. Some of my team members come in extra early and leave extra late, others havent gone home since last week. Im not saying that were perfect. Im not saying that youre wrong. Im just saying that we are working as hard as we can, and I think that our team merits just a little tiny bit of recognition for their hard work.

Forgive me if I sound emotional, I am. Im tired from only being able to sleep 3~4 hours every night, Im tired from working 20 hours a day.

Omg finally someone else who dares to judge, thanks passion.
Still can't believe people believe the bs dew posted. They have exactly the same motives as to when they started their 'massive' bot ban campaign but kept banning the same bots, over and over again.

Forgot the saying you would use in these situations, guess someone will know. Any-who nice P.

Ive got heaps of popcorn to share, mauler. And yes, fire extinguishers are a good idea. Grim can have some of my popcorn if he shares his chocolate.

Oh yeah, narak has chips! :)

lol :D

Lets get a 24 pack for each person. That way we can last one day. If it hasnt finished yet we get a runner to go and by some more. And we also need portable toilets so we dont need to hold our crap. I'm bringing heaps of popcorn, narak's got the chips and grimmy's got loads of chocolate. Mauler, you're covering the cost of drinks. We need one more person to buy the portable toilets and also one other person to bring teh fire extinguishers.

Ive got cricket bats, just in case. That's my number one rule: always bring cricket bats to debates.
