I would love to see an update come through for low levels. It seems all of the updates that come through are for capped or nearly capped players. Maybe they should release a few dungeons or something for players under level 30 or 40.

The items Roc drops, I know they go over your armor but do they hide your avatar as well? Or does it take place of your avatar?

Why would they ever raise the cap already? We only had 100 cap for like 3 months.

If they would raise cap now that would be the fastest cap raise ever.
I also highly doubt they will raise soon because cap raises take longer then previous cap raise.
60-70 almost happened right when it got out of beta (yes it was still beta till 70 cap)
70-80 took about 3/4 months
80/90 took about 6/7 months
90/100 took about 9/10 months

so cap raise after 3 months is simply too fast, most people are still farming and "normal" players mostly haven't even hit 95 yet. (with normal i don't mean legits but people who play max of 3 hours a day)

there won't be any low lvl updates since there is no one playing at these levels thanks to power-leveling

no new lv cap dudes, just remain in 100. it's just a small update with some new mobs(uniques), new quests, news items. You know we are later for nearly 1 year compared with the kSRO and cSRO.

Well maybe if Joymax would release low level updates, people would stop power leveling. Everyone seems to race to cap because "endgame is where the fun is" and then when they get there, a lot of them quit because they find that it's boring at cap after a while. If there was more content at lower levels, people would have more reason to actually get out there and PLAY the game instead of just sitting on a horse for the first 90+ levels.

Yes, you are right. I already got this with PK2 edit. Means they already updated that intro into our pk2. :)

80 Cap was released in december 2007, 90 cap was released may 2008, so only 5 months ^^ (got this info from google, so don't know if it's true

It's not. Uranus opened sometime around November 2007 and 80 cap has been around for close to a year by then. Maybe Google meant December 2006.

70 cap came out around Spring of 2006. According to your information SRO has only been open for a few months over 21. Thats not even two years and considering this game opened in 2005, your information is completely wrong. 60-70 took about 6 months,70- 80 took about 1 year. 80- 90 took well over 1 year, possibly year and a half, pre euro and post euro and 90-100 took about 8 months.

Anyways I doubt they would raise cap. It would kill the game in a matter of weeks.

Not quite sure how a cap raise would kill the game. It would give capped players something new to do, even if there are only a few capped players. The rest of the players could continue doing what they've been doing as if there was no cap raise.

People aren't capping as fast as they have been in the past. In comparison to previous caps there are way less capped people and most people are still in the 95-98 range currently. After they cap, they need to farm, then enjoy the pvp versus other capped people.
If cap opens, they missed out on a chance to get full farmed and have fun pvping.
Rest of the players cant continue to do that because the rest of the players are in the 9X range. So if they don't continue to grind 10-20 levels, they fall way behind and its pointless to pvp or go to fort.
In this game cap raise does kill the game. In the end the only differences are the new grind areas and the weapons. The rest is the same old stuff you have been doing since 60 cap. The skills look practically the same and the monsters look pretty much the same as well. Only difference is that it gets boring and more life consuming to get to cap.
Its the fact that the only expansion they know of is to increase the cap. They could keep the cap and work in so many other directions.

I guess I have a different outlook on this game than most people. I don't think everyone should be capping quickly. Cap should be "hard" to get to, or at least take a while. You say most people are still in the 95-98 range. I say most people in the server should be somewhere in the middle of the level range. If everyone on the server just caps and farms constantly, then what about the new players that start? They'll come on trying to grind lvl 1-10, see EVERYONE else is lvl 90+, and just power level to cap. Spread the level distribution out a bit, and the capped players can still do their thing, and lower levels won't have to worry so much about cap because there are plenty of other players at their level.

RogueKiller wrote:

Why do we all HAVE to be fully farmed? You should be able to have fun PVPing if everyone else is not fully farmed, and at lower levels. Again, cap shouldn't be something that you can easily get to by sitting on a horse for 95 levels.

RogueKiller wrote:

I guess in the current state of the game, where everyone either cheats to get to the cap, or just power levels the whole way, it's 'pointless' to PVP or go to fort. Maybe Joymax should reset everyone to lvl 1  There's a reason you only have to be lvl 40 (I believe?) to use a hammer at the fort. Fort shouldn't just be for capped and nearly capped players.

Yes, Joymax could work on so many other things, but all of those things would be just for nearly capped players since everyone seems to be in such a huge rush to get to cap... then complain that there's nothing new for them to do. It'd be almost pointless for Joymax to create new things for low levels because there aren't so many low level players anymore. I think in the end, Joymax does what they feel the community wants, or is at least influenced by it. The community, in general, races to cap. So, Joymax sees everyone made it there, so they raise the cap.

Who knows, maybe if more people participated in the triangular conflict, they'd update that.

If more people started having SRO weddings outside Jangan East Gate, they'd add features for that... maybe. :P

I guess how you look at the game varies per server and how old it is. My server is old, as in most people are high level with a lot of competition. Theres really no place on the server for lower level characters. Server is broken down into three kinds of players really, capped, players who used to be capped but now choose to just pvp and not level, and people who have a character within the last ten levels or capped that like to pvp with their low levels for fun. A new player really has no chance to survive in that.
If your not full farmed, theres a huge damage difference. The damage difference increases as you get higher level. When everyone is already high, you need to be full farmed to beat people.
The last time low levels enjoyed the game on Aege was at 80 cap. I remember there was a "nub" side on DW south where everyone under 60 used to go pvp separate from the capped player and it was a really crowded area. But that area is empty now thanks to many things.

This is why 60/70 cap was the best. The caped players weren't that far ahead of the other players. There were a lot more activity going on back then. This huge separation (lvl 1 - 100) plus the tedious grind makes the game boring now.

JM shouldav just leave the game at lvl 70 or at least lvl 80. So many benefits could be gained. Such as having 4 masteries maxed. They could have a bank of skills of your choosing...not the current progressive ones. And each update could be focused on adding content thats not tied to a cap increase.

Get rid of powerlvling is another thing. This would force partying and team work. And also remove some of the euro skills or make them less overpowered (Things like bless)

I bet they would have a lot less botting in the game if the cap was only 70 and it could be reached fairly easy.

They could keep giving us cap increases if they would also create different areas (e.g., caves) with level restrictions. If they create content that can only be experienced below lvl 20 or 30 or 40, and other content for 40-60 only, and so on, then all the "good stuff" won't just be at cap. The people that get tired of the low level stuff can go to cap and experience that. The low levels that enjoy being low level, have their own content. Then of course there would be shared content so low and high can play together.

Definitely get rid of power leveling.

Yes Fortress War would be a lot more fun if most people were lower level. I've never participated in FW, partly because of the inconvenient time, but also because the highest I've ever gotten was lvl 54 (38 in a guild that owned the fortress). I wouldn't be much help.

@RogueKiller: I do agree the old servers are much harder for a low level player to play in. Again, it wouldn't be so bad if everyone wasn't in such a rush to race to cap, and if Joymax would give some more content for the low levels to experience.

ok i did some more research and the level cap raises are:

lvl 60 to 70 was 4th of april 2006
lvl 70 to 80 was 26th of december 2006
lvl 80 to 90 was 20th of may 2008
lvl 90 to 100 was 17th of march 2009

There everyone happy now? the fastest cap raise was 70 to 80 which still took 8! months.
The chances of a cap raise after 3 months is very low i guess

I never played Guild Wars but they did a good job by adding a lot of content and skills and not going cap heavy. The cap in that game is only 20. Because of that you have a lot of players that interact with each other. The emphasis is on the skills you choose to have and the gear.

If silkroad was built like that (not saying we should have a lvl 20 cap) it would be a fun game. Keep the lvl cap low. Add lots more skills for all the classes. Then its just a matter of what skill u want to lvl up. (makes pvping way more interesting). This idea would increase the social aspect of the game and make the servers full of "real life players".

Every successful game out there focus on inducing interactivity amongst its players. Social interactions from good content and game play. The opposite of that is a solo race to the cap which is what JM created.
