Well, if people were like me then Joymax would make more money. Silkroad isn't a game worth paying for until they get rid of the bots. When they do I'll be happy to buy some silk.

That may just be you and only a few handful of people though. How much will you buy each month? Will that from you and others can keep them their servers/game alive?

All i know is, most players left sro to try out other games or simply got bored after years or tired of bot and play other games, already. It is too late imo.

And, most people who are still there are making new chars insanely, out of boredom, farming them, selling them, gold botting for their main chars, making bards so that they can own in dw pvp with their bard army or simply refuse to try out other games coz they said they didn't have time to grind in other games while they can bot in this game 24/7. Most of these guys have premiums on more than one char, still spending a lot on magic pops etc.

So like i said, even if the are really going to get rid of all bots, the game won't still surive much longer imo. It may even make it die faster. It is not all about bots only now. It is just that they are not making it better in term of game play as well.

Some players who appreicate real game play (can handgrind and who can affort) would want to try out other games for 15 USD a month. There are a few good games who would use that money to try to make their game fun and maintain them, contantly at least better than JM. However, in sro , it is like they use customers money for bandwidth which gold bots are enjoying the most.

The wipe won't kill sro. Remember when sro first started, there is no bot? But JM still manage to get money from Silk. So even if all the bots are banned and quit. Sro will be filled again with legits who actually buy Silk. Some addicted bots will restart legit again or bot get banned again

When sro first started there wasn't even any silk, the item mall wasn't out for a while.

And yea, Sro would be fine, and it would do better if it wasn't so infested, it would take some time, but defintely aint gonna kill Sro.

When the game started, there wasn't even item mall to get silk. But, isro bot was there already even at lvl 60 cap...giving them out for free for trials. Not long after they introduced the item mall and they raised the cap to 70, isrobot were well established in old sro servers. Gold bots started to come in but didn't ks normal players yet. And of course, JM did have/plan to have a few budget for the game before they got money from selling silk at first like every F2p games do or it would have been a bad business.

Most botters who refused to try out other games because they said they had no time to grind (some of them do but don't want to) wouldn't restart as legits to grind. Lvling in sro is pretty insane compared to most mmos, not to mention insane amount of sp to farm. Seriously, when i logged into the server, most people i see there who have premiums are bots. You don't need proofs or bla bla. You just know who bots and who not if you play in a server for awhile. And try to talk them if they would reroll/stay as legits if JM starts to ban every bots and theirs. The bot wipe-out may not kill the game instantly but the game may die sooner/faster than it should.

And, like i said it isn't only about the bot, the game in general is lacking a lot of things for even legits who would spend their money regularly. We have seen nothing from JM to improve the game in the near future as they are not even updating some good stuff in ksro(?) as far as i know for awhile. I am not talking about making more suits etc. I am talking about real enjoyable game play, contents etc. Like i said, the money from customers are spending on prety much gold bots (so that they can keep logging on the game coz the game will be still alive and sell their golds, making some income bla bla) rather than spending on actualy game play unlike some of the p2p games. So there is not much points spending on that kind of game, of course, imo.

The only botters around early on at the 60 cap I remember were some chinese, unless anyone just barely had it, or hid it well. I didn't think isro bot was around then. Few retards did use some of those older bots bots though, the ones that got you stuck on everything, and atks purple players none stop, and spammed "g" over and over.

That would be good, if they can't play legitlty they shoudln't be playing, and i'd bet no one else wants them around anyway, the players who actually want to play are the ones that are gone atm, ban the bots, get legits. Lvling in Sro is hard but thats not an excuse to bot, its simply "I don't want to lvl but I wanna be high lvl, so i'll cheat" which is expected in any game of course, its just supposed to not be allowed by joymax. The game is gonna die sooner now with bots though, ppl lvl faster, less new ppl wanna play, if they can even login to try it, i'd bet ppl are getting bored and quiting faster then ppl join.

The game may not have as much stuff as other games, but its still a good game, with a lot of content and alot more on the way. It's not only the "legits" who would be around though too if there were no bots, plenty of those who did bot would stick around i'm sure.

Ya know who pays money for anything having to do with a game? Ppl that want to play, if they can cheat in it, most probably will do so and just be happier, but i'd bet they aren't looking for a game specifically to buy stuff and bot in.

The main reason is not the lack of time, but because they want to cheat and desire to be better than other through cheating. It's been proved many times that legits grinding in party could level up faster than botting. With only 3 hours play with gold ticket, you'd reach lvl 80+ easily in 3-4 months, that's if you train with team at mob 10 level higher, that's already 4x more experiences than a normal solo player.
Oh, if you have no more than 3 hours free per day, either don't play games or go to hell.

Those who say who got no time to play are usually 18+ years old or who got a work. While the majority of sro population are turks and egyptians <12-16 years old. Other say they bot because their friends and other ppl bot, not because they has no time to play.

Isro bot did exist at lvl 60 because it wasn't a new bot as both ksro and csro had it way before isro servers came. Attacking back and wall humping were improved after a few months. At that time, people on old servers complained about bots on the ice place, ishaes, yeti, sonars etc. There were some people putting on names who they killed on their stall list every day. So, just not to let the game popularity die, GMs at first usually came in the game and caught a few. They first banned them for a week then a month then permenant. 7 people my guild back then got banned for isro bot in a soilder room of the dw cave at lvl 70 cap.

And Isro bot is made by some chinese company as far as I know. So you are right in a way that you see some chinese bots there and isro is one of them.

I am not making excuse for botters or anything. What I am saying is if JM were to ban bots indiscriminatly (sp), those lazy botters would have quit which is good for the legit community of course but also JM would have lose lots of paying customers as well. I am sure one of the reasons they havent really done about bottings especially player bottings is because of it, IMO. They probably calculate it already. They don't ban them not because of laziness obviously they had some GMs getting into the game and trying to catch bots in early stage of the game at 70 cap. IMO, they know the game is going nowhere and trying to milk as much as they could from remaining botters and legits who still pay. By banning bots who are majority of their paying customers (do i have stats to back it up? no but it is common sense nowsdays and of coures, it is my opinion), the game will go down faster. Even at that time (70cap), this guy called tweleve on babel who was a heavy silk buyer got pms from a Gm who was checking bots who were reported by players. He was afk, and GM didn't ban him right away like they did with many others. But, he instead got bascially a warning not to bot. There were some screenshots about it in other forum probably tavern. I forgot the exact msg of it now as it has been long time. That was a prime example of JM on the issue. You or I thinking if banning bots would make legits came back and spend heck load of money in the places of botters for JM to keep the game alive and get some profits from it are just a guess. It may or may not happen. We won't know till they do it. But, obviously JM don't want to gamble on it and take a risk which they have showed for years, imo.

Not sure about what you are trying to say or reply to in your last sentence.

SRO would be perfect if they reduce the grind time by uping the exp gains and completely ridding the game of bots... The servers would be full of legits who aren't afraid of hand grinding anymore...I vote for a total server whipe..restart for everyone but keeping all your gears and items.

I just have to laugh at the people who claim that Joymax would lose money by banning bots because "95% of their profits come from silk-buying bots" and similar things. I think Joymax would be foolish to only have one source of revenue, namely the Item Mall. They have other sources, like advertising, licensing of server files to other companies, and who knows what else.

Unless someone actually gets ahold of Joymax's revenue statements that show how much of their revenue is based on silk versus other things, you can't make claims like that.

I'm quite certain that Joymax gets revenue from a number of places, and not just the item mall. So if they ban 100% of botters, and keep them away, maybe their silk sales would go down a lot, but if (assumption) silk is only 30% of their total revenue, then who cares?

SRO will not die because of bot bans.
