SRO was my 1st mmo, out of all mmos i have tried since 2006 i like sro the most.
But to play it to the fullest you have to pay so much money, its not worth it.
Joymax had something great which they could make even greater, but instead they want money and nothing more, they ruined a great game.

well i have been looking for other games , just something else so i could leave sro , well as hard i have tried nothing ... here i am still playing isro dam it

I stoped sro and played linage 2 , wow , perfect world , some other games but still i came back to sro and quited others .

Agree. I have tried to get away from Silkroad several times. I played WOW, Guild Wars, Lineage 2, 9Dragons, Atlantica, Cabal, Jade Dynasty, and some kung fu game. Yet...I always end up back on good old SRO. There's just something about this game...

Lets be honest. Give Silkroad a Blizzard Type Management and it would be THE best mmo period point blank.

@Strwarrior - Not really. If you give SRO to Blizzard, and through some act of God they keep it free to play, you won't need to buy premium to log in or anything. The servers would be populated, maybe crowded, but still easy login. So one could play for free whenever they want and enjoy everything in the game without paying a cent.

Sure, you could pay for silk to get upgrades and things, but as far as I'm concerned, there's plenty to enjoy in SRO without paying for silk. This is assuming Blizzard takes care of all the problems with botting and gold buying, etc, which I'm sure they would.

Blizzards people arent gods, even with Blizzard's managment it would be filled with bots.
The problems are huge SP & EXP requirements.

I love this game but I just hate the EXP and SP bullshit. So, to avoid that, I play ecSRO. =)

The idea of Silkroad = yes. The developers+isro's staff = fail.

I wonder if they just simply stopped caring because of the so called "Silkroad 2" we've been hearing about might be real. I wouldn't be surprised if it's real. Remake a good game and just bring out half assed updates to keep the people that love throwing money to Joymax's face still playing in the mean time.

Joymax does have a great game they could've kept going, but what really killed it besides the staff? I'm ganna say the level cap. If they really didn't go cap heavy the game could still be one of the 'best'. That is if they went with an easy cap like 80cap and just added end game content from that. Unlike 100cap where you need a billion exp to level 80cap needed a couple hundred to reach cap. Easy to farm, easy to cap, and well.. just easy for everything.

Lvl 100 (or any cap) should be reserved for the small number of people who are actually willing to put in the time and effort to get there. The cap shouldn't be easy or fast for everyone to get there. I remember when getting to cap actually used to MEAN something. Now everyone and their brother (and everyone's alt character) is at or near cap because they mostly cheat their way to it.

The huge SP & EXP requirements should not be a problem. They are designed to try and spread out the levels of players in the game. It shouldn't be 90% of the server at/near cap, and the other 10% struggling to get past lvl 30 or quitting. I think the majority of people should be somewhere in the mid levels, maybe 40-60 or so and quite a few others at 60-80. We shouldn't have a server full of lvl 100s fighting for a place to grind in the caves... and then complaining that there's nothing to do at cap.

The main problem with iSRO is the gold buyers. Get rid of them, the gold bots will go away, the servers won't be so packed, prices of suns, etc, would go down, people would be able to afford weapons and gear more, people would be able to grind more in grind parties without worrying about gold bots ksing them... need I go on? All of these problems stem, for the most part, from gold bots. Why are gold bots here? Because of gold buyers.

Maybe it is like this game is an asshole girlfriend/boyfriend. It is really exciting and fun to play but it constantly lets you down, leaving you yearning for more. WoW on the other hand is the nice girlfriend/boyfriend. It's always there and available, so it doesn't have the same pulling drive. Dunno lol.

I played MANY MMOs (and I'm not even really a MMO addict)... and I always end up coming back to SRO, even if it's just checking out what's going on and people filling me in.

I just love the overall feeling when playing SRO.

The lack of administration, moderation, observation or whatever you want to call it is really sad; same with the lack of content... but the game itself is just great.

everyone always says that "what if blizzard took over" line... but I always think, what would they want with this game?... I know everyone here loves it , because you invest a piece of yourself in all the time spent to play, i love to play sro too... but in MMOS overall it never had the draw that would interest a bigtime company like blizzard. She ain't getting any younger boys , I don't know what the average lifespan for an MMO is but graphically sro is outdated. If Blizzard were to take it over today and say it would take them 1-2 years to make improvements and get a decent population of real players than what do we have. it's like buying $2000 rims for your hoopty ride , I just never saw them making that kinda of investment

I played this game since open beta and quit recently. I kept playing for so long coz of friends there. As long as Sro is F2P, no one can save this game, imo. Having severs full with like 3k gold bots and 500 real players is just insane...

I finally got sick of so called f2p games coz of sro. I thought paying to play a game was stupid then I ended up paying more than $15 for most of the time monthly anyway. And,then got beaten by rich arabs who had all full suns and have their own gold botting companies and who were cluless about most things. Even JM would unban their chars if they called them (one of their leader already admitted it) and didn't even ban a single dam gold bot (coughs, you know what server)for a year or so. Stupid FW time to suit some middle eastern countries weekends (thursday and friday). You called frieds to pvp, trade against them because you got killed by some, only to face with 20 more of full sun players of their friends... Then, they would say hhhhhhhhhh (haha is how normal people do but couldn't say it, properly).

One thing everyone got it terribly wrong about sro in this thread from my experiences of years in the game and babel is there is a good customer service but only for those who pay the most. Even GM would come in the game (shocking, right?) and wish you on your brithday. And no, it is not a madeup story.

Hopefully, Aion can keep me there.

I can't quit because of friends and when I'm there I've someone special to me that keeps on showing me the fun part of the game.
